I bought Star Wars Battlefront 2, via Steam. It has the same servers than CD Edition?
It will use the same type of GameMaster patch to connect to servers yes, just as in SWBF, you will need to replace your exe.

Gamespy is down, so it doesn't matter which version you have. You'll need Gamemaster to play online as stated above. And yes, this should be moved to the SWBF2 board.

I also have the steam version, game master still works but instead of going to lucas arts folder you instead go:
C Drive/User/User/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Steam
That is where it is for me. It still uses the same servers as non-steam version.Hope I helped :)
