Imitations of Flappy Bird – the free gaming app that took the world by storm – might be popping up everywhere, but the original game is 'gone forever,' according to its creator.

Nguyen Ha Dong, the developer who pulled his highly successful and profitable app over the weekend, revealed he did so because he thinks it was too addictive.

The Vietnamese Hanoi-based developer is believed to have walked away from a small fortune as it is estimated he could have made $50,000 every day in in-app advertising alone.

We need an app!

This is all im gonna say, Flappy Bird is  :censored:. I played on my freinds phone and it was horrible. Wow, it felt good to get that out :)
"I would explain it to you but your head might explode."

I'd like to say 'and nothing of value was lost',
but $50,000 daily advert revenue is pretty good going for a re-hash of the helicopter game.

Never understood the hype around it, but now that it's removed, I'l never need to. :P

Unless of course me or my dad buys one of the several ripoffs of the game that have been created already:

An iphone with the "rare flappy bird" installed was going on ebay for $650 just 2 hours after it was pulled.

Ah, you mean like this article states?

That's a lot of money.
I understand the author's concern though. I'll trade cash for peace of mind every time.

It would be interesting to know if any of those phones are actually selling for those insane prices.

-edit
Just did a search on ebay. The only ones with any bids are priced $55 or lower.

Oh how I miss Brazil and its beautiful scenery, out going culture, misty jungles, and crazy pricing :P (Not to mention the families of 5-6-7 riding on one motorcycle with no helmets..)

You guys realize if you downloaded the game all you have to do is go into your "Purchased" list on the App Store and you can just iCloud download it. I really don't understand the panic.
Oh and I have a small high score of 44 right now. I suck at these kind of games so...

I didn't even download the game.  Sort of wish I had tried it before it was pulled.  What is it?  The Dark Souls of iPhone games? lol

Though that goes without saying that Dark Souls is obviously a much, much better game :P
