So recwntly, lucas arts was bought by disney. And they announced some stuff.
They are going to continue star wars 1313, and a xbla game is supposedly coming. But there is also something else. An unnamed next gen first person shooter. Could this be star wars battlefront III? Mabye? Mabye not? We all know swbf3 was in development and was cancelled. Thoughts?
I saw this on a gaming news site called kotaku. It was titled: whats up with the new lucasarts?
Happy happy happy! I say we all buy (if it comes out) swbf3 the day it comes out and rent a server for people just for this site! HAHOO!
Dance party time! :moo: :moo:
edit: three smileys or less please

Josh, when they announce SWBF3 coming, INSTANT PRE-ORDER ASAP!
Im not saying its swbf3, im saying it could be. It could also be something like star wars 1313 or somwthing
1313 looks like it has some good action to it, perhaps the job postings were about 1313.
I've heard way too many SWBF3 rumors at this point to be optimistic about a sequel anymore. It is also going to be difficult to introduce a new FPS game across consoles, considering Halo and Call of Duty currently occupy a HUGE amount of the shooter market. Also, the SWBF3 project was canned awhile ago because some Lucasarts executive screwed over the project.
What console will 1313 be out on, im getting a 360 so I hope it comes out on that console as well as pc! I believe whoever may have killed swbf3 will try it again when the new movie comes out in 2015, this may be a long, but worth while wait!
1313 will be on Xbox, PS3, and PC.
Yay! Happy happy and even more happy! ( most likely 1313 and swbf3 wont work on my computer because its not very good, but ill try it) I think we should make a deal with steam or xfire that they can advertise in exchange for copies of 1313 and (or) swbf3 to raffle off to people of the site!

Emphasis on "PC", you will need a gaming grade PC to play this game, the graphics are that good.
NO! Those cost lots of money that I or anyone in my family can afford! At least Im buying the big boy 360. Even if this may be swbf3 isnt swbf3, I still cant wait for it. :cheer:

Not sure if sarcasm, or angry. :P
Im not sarcastic or angry...
Huh? So are you saying gaming pcs are cheap? Like under 160.00$?
Depends how top of the line you want to go. And if you build it yourself.
Regarding Star Wars 1313, picture the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed port for Wii. That is what it will be like on the consoles. All the stuff we have seen was on a high-end nvidia PC. Meaning it makes current gen consoles look like Nintendo Entertainment Systems.

I can guarantee you won't need a gaming computer I have a SAMSUNG that I got for 500 US dollars and I can run any game just fine.
Its not that the type of computer I have is bad, we put a nice ( top of the line) video card in it and then the computer went haywire...

TIL nvidia is a manufacturer of computers. :)
I think they meant by it that they were using high end nvidia graphics cards in it. Sorry for me not being clear.

Oh, only a jerk would say what this dirtbag (http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=5588.msg55204;topicseen#new) said.
I understood what you said. I just couldn't resist letting the opportunity be wasted, even if it wasn't the greatest of opportunities.
Oh you...
This topic seems to have gone off topic, as it is about the possibility of swbf 3, not star wars 1313. lol

Indeed. Why would we discuss the possibility of a game that has already been unveiled? :P
Anyways, this is the link OP was talking about: http://kotaku.com/5960576/whats-up-with-lucasarts-plus-more-gaming-secrets

If you're really digging for deals and cut a few corners (no dvd drive, 4 GB ram, older generation cpu, etc) you can probably get away with a $300 dollar low-end gaming pc.
Under $160 you can build yourself something that can max out SWBF1 or something old like that.
Pre-built gaming computers are usually expensive because it's a business. They charge you for the service of putting it together.
It doesn't take a genius to do it either. I've learned how to put them together by opening one up and figuring out what the different parts are!
--------
If LucasArts makes a new FPS, they're going to need some fresh talent. Disney Interactive hasn't been fairing too well either so it's not like they can transfer some of their teams and make a hit video game.
The Battlefront series made LucasArts so much money and the third one was so highly anticipated. It should be a no-brainer to reboot it so I hope the new management can do so.
I recently found a fairly recent article about how the people who were supposed to make swbf3 closed. In the case of swbf3 they were given 3 years to work on it, and they ended up needing more time, and it got canceled. At least thats now i understood it.
And aparently the battles were going to simulate space and land battles at the same time, and let you take off into space and fight there, kind of like what elite squadren did, but much better
