GOG protecting battlefront for the future

For anyone who hasn't seen, GOG have announced they're protecting 162 games including battlefront to keep them playing on future operating systems. Fingers crossed it works!

Woot! This is good news. I do hope they keep this up, it'll be great to have them be continuously playable and easy to launch in the future! GOG is great!

Interesting, I don't think it makes a big difference right now, but it will be interesting to see where this program winds up in 10+ years.

   I do not think they work on improvements, only making sure game "works". If it doesn't restart.

Yes, as I understand it the point of the program is to "preserve" the game as is, not fix it. Which is why I don't think we will really see anything happen until we see further changes to Windows (perhaps the next OS after WIN11). I'm sure it would have to be something that would actually break the game.
