Title: Xfire Replacement - Raptr
Post by: Phobos on February 26, 2013, 01:57:30 PM
RAPTR
http://raptr.com/download

You have to make an account (free) and then at the sidebar on the right, click friends and accounts. Now click the little wrench icon at the top and click Add Account. Service XFIRE, type in your user/pass, and set it to auto login. Raptr lets you change other preferences too, and works in game, tracks hours, etc. Only thing it doesn't have yet that xfire does is video support.

Xfire client has crashed constantly for me since classic was removed, and now with this client I can talk to xfire friends in game without having to deal with laggy xfire bugs and crashes. This is the best solution I have found yet. It's also nice that there are no advertisements like xfire has. It loads and runs faster.

xfire website is glitched out like crazy. i can't leave community, and am in too many so that it crashes the client. raptr does not show the extra communities, only the 'core ones'. i don't know when xfire will fix all their bugs...
this client also keeps all chat windows within 1 window, with tabs for different friends. it is much nicer tbh

Nice find, but when you say it runs faster; is that just for you or other people as well? My computer isnt exactly fast anymore ;P

Thanks, this looks like a good compromise between a working client and not losing all my X-fire friends who come on every few months.

Well it runs faster than xfire for me so far, I've had it installed about an hour. I posted this thread to see if it will run faster for other people as well  8)

Still trying to figure out how to get in-game chat to work. So far nothing shows up when I press the hotkey for toggle in-game chat.

I'll try this out. I haven't had any problems with the xfire program at all. It has worked perfectly for me. However, as for the website, I can't even login.

Go to the raptr icon in the quickbar at the bottom of your screen, right click and select manage installed games then tick the 'in-game' box for SWBF. There's a warning thats its not suported and might crash.
Mine then worked in game but I could only put it up not turn it off again so theres still some stuff to work out. :)
Edit: works fine now
