My two favorites were Rebel Depot and Administrator's Palace, I think those would be a great way to slowly learn about map making.  I would love to also be able to work up to making Jundland Wastes, that one was my favorite larger size map.

Using the methods Giftheck mentioned above is really smart.  I need to find my game guide and start taking a bunch of screenshots/videos.

That sounds perfect, thank you.

I am just interested in using certain maps as reference.  Giftheck has inspired me with his demakes of EA maps and I know it's pretty ambitious, but I want to try to recreate some smaller maps from the 2015 game.

I was wondering if anyone knew of any tools that existed to be able to freecam around a model of the game's maps, or for any tools that were able to extract the map models for importing into programs such as Blender?

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by shipped maps.  However, the mod that has the Imperial Officer unit is Majin Revan's Naboo: Encounter.  Is there a tool that extracts .lvl files in Downloads?

Edit:
Actually, I just found a collection of assets from Sereja that had what I was looking for!  Thanks for the pointer for checking the Downloads tab.

I have been looking through the forums searching for the original Imperial Officer msh file, but have not had any luck in finding it.  I do have a downloaded map with the Imperial Officer as a playable unit, and he exists in his own .lvl file in the mod's SIDES folder.  Is it possible to extract the contents from the .lvl file to get access to the officer msh file?

I appreciate your help.  I was able to find a plugin for paint.net which hid the alpha.  Once I am finished with my edits, will I need to revert the alpha back to what it was before, or will the game be able to correctly read the texture?

I found the blender .msh plugin so I am able to import and view the character models and their UVs!

In addition to that, is munging the newly edited texture the only way to apply it?  Or does hex editing the texture onto the msh work?

I use paint.net, however I guess I should download GIMP and try again.  Thank you for the shout about the alpha channel.

Hello,

I checked out the tga files for the B1 Battle Droids, wanting to do some reskinning, but their files are almost totally transparent.  I am assuming the tga images are used for detailing of the model, and the model itself is just prefab'd with the main color of the droid (that tan color or whatever).  I was wondering for anyone who has had success in reskinning a B1 Battle Droid, how were you able to do so?

Thanks!
