That's not all a bad thing - this isn't a poorly-constructed map. There are no floating objects and it looks pretty good (although exactly like Endor). It's a little weird (and it technically makes no sense, readme explanation or not) to have the Death Star II floating above the heads of the Clones and CIS.

The real issue with this map is in the gameplay department. There are still just four CPs (although they appear to have been moved a little). There are no special units for either team (except for the Republic's jettrooper). This makes winning the game extraordinarily easy (especially once you get a hero). A battle here will probably last no more than about 5 minutes.

In summary, this isn't a bad map, construction-wise, although I would avoid making a map that looks so much like a preexisting stock map (especially the DSII skydome - that's easy to fix and should have been done right away). Make sure for future maps that you work on the gameplay - don't make it so easy to win that your map becomes dull.

its not a great map...but it has some good things on it, for one thing there arent any specials (what i surly love)...it's in CW :D and it has heros :P

The map is given a background of a random battle in the Clone Wars, which is fine - until you play GCW. Because a lot of the props in the level are CW-centered, it seems silly in GCW (-when you see a Banking Clan ship above you). It's often better in these cases to leave one era out altogether rather than make a goofy setup like that. (Of course you could always load separate ZE layers for each era, too.)

This map is also big - far too large to really be a lot of fun. Most first maps tend to be this way, and it is important to get a sense of scale in comparing Zeroeditor setup to ingame setup. I don't think it helped this author that he populated his map with the actual capital ship assets from space maps, which are really far too large to work well on ground maps (and their lower-rez textures don't look very good). On that same note, you need to adjust view distance because I don't believe that the Corellian Corvette has any lowrez model.

Other minor mistakes abound - while the author fortunately had the foresight to change the ground texture, the sky texture is unchanged (and consequently that ugly Yavin modtools sky). The terrain editing is also not extremely well-done, with a number of rough-edged "hills" that don't feel a lot like hills. The map could also use some boundaries, since there's nothing blocking the player from getting outside the map bounds.

It's also worth mentioning that conquest is set up improperly - you don't need to capture all the CPs to win. While sometimes this is intentional (and forgive me please if it is), I doubt this is the case here - it seems like the author incorrectly set up the addition of new CPs to the conquest setup in the lua.

Good aspects of this map include some of the town layout - it worked well, but everything (on the whole map) needs to be a lot closer together, otherwise it is just plain inaccessible.

Requests / Making special objects?

Hey i was with a friend who also has the game at his pc (he never plays) and i suggested to make a map (for fun)...so we downloaded some of the essets of this site and of filefront. We have a lot of fun making terriblle maps who we destroy after 1 time playing...

now i have a question (maybe handy for all modders)...is it possible to make a moving object like a lift or  some sort of platform who moves from the 1 to the other round.

or that if you jump on something you are jumping a lot higher.

(something more special effects)...i mean i love the zooming in of jango fett (from Napseeker).

hi, since my exams are in a month from now i have to say i will become a lot less activer. I wasnt on a lot latly cause im just keep having test exams and tomorrow i also have one. But after the exams are over i hope/thing ill come back so no wurries. Ill check for fun posts sometimes.

BTW if AG can get to post 3000 before my exams are over ill come back then cause then im gonna kill him

Hey, since i started to get my first costum map (from MXG) i greatest (SWBF) wish was to make my own maps.
however i know that its only came out for the PC (as ussual) But i want to ask if the essets can be ported to the mac...

1. A big villa,
5 Cp's (only Reb/Emp, Emp will have jedi skins to make them look normal people. Or use the commando skin)
One Cp will start at the front of the house, use the gate from Naboo, then you come into a big garden were are 2 speeders at the garage.
Then in the study room/book room (maybe Corus1). Is a other Cp this is the second Cp.
3th Cp will be in the middle of the house what is a big hallway (can also be used from Corus map).
4th map will be in the upper room Bots can go upstairs 2!!! (if seen maps were they cant get to the second floor (naboo).
And the last Cp will be at the backdoor were is a sort of statue standing (like in the Rltc map of CC) There the bots will spawn surrounding them.

Map Idea 2:
A training ground..
This map is exuly very simple it will have a great gate around the map and inside it there will be a lot of opstacles like blocks and other stuff

Maybe fun to use on both sides the rebel skins but then whit only a diverend color on it like one it red and the other yellow

Ahh, the nostalgia...
First off, this is the best Halo mod I've seen yet. It may be the only one I can recall, but still. It caused me to dust off my BF I cds for the first time in a long time, and I can say that it was probably worth it.

It replaces imp.lvl, so you'll be playing as Master Chief instead of stormies. He replaces them in every instance. Including numbers. There are more Spartans running around then... then... a thing that there's a lot of.
The weapons, while heavily modified, could use a power boost. I found myself shooting away at the rebel scum, while they nonchalantly turned and gunned me down. LOVE the plasma grenade, though. It's almost worth downloading this just for the satisfaction of chucking them and seeing the awesome blueish explosion.
Last off, the textures. Those who are used to the spiffy BFII textures might think these are dull, but I kinda like them. There's some good jobs for just reskins, you can tell what's what without any actual new models. He made a regular stormie look like something from another game, fer cryin out loud, so some slack is given. The only exception is the 'ODST', who just looks chromed black. Otherwise, good job!

Review:
This map is pretty cool. You start out on either side of the forest with either Taun-Tauns or speeders. It is your objective to clear through the level without getting either A. killed by the Rancors or B. killed by the enemy. There are lots of bases and the Rancors, though seemingly harmless, can provide quite a challenge to get around if you are a simple infantry man.

There are no bugs that I saw while playing. The level is in the forest with lots of trees and a ton of moving grass so I advise that if you do not have a very high end machine, to try to stray away from this map, as I experienced a slight frame-loss on my machine, and my computer is pretty high up there.

Overall, nice map, you might want to remove some of the grass and what not, but the purpose of the map overall has been brought and it's pretty fun to play! Enjoy!

These maps are not that complicated and not very detailed at all but it is the best that could be done with the "Best of PC" version of battlefront

Review:
This map wasn't very fun. Considering the fact that it was simply a scrim map, I don't believe that it was meant to, however, that doesn't draw from the fact that this map should have possibly been kept secret.

Though the map provides land vehicles for land to infantry and land to air attack, there aren't many choices. Tanks and civilian armoured cars are your only selection, and then there are only Tie Fighters and X-Wings.

The only scenery in the map are the large temples on either side of you.

I do recommend this map for practice, however, next time, in releasing a map, take careful consideration to making it more strategic.

That's alright though. The level is very bug free and consists of a number of totally kick-rear features, including the usage of a Transport Ship for the Galactic Civil War era! This adds some great tactical turns in the game. You also get your choice of a TON of vehicles, from speeders, to starfighters, to hover tanks. The whole 9 and a half yards is at your disposal.

The only real thing I don't like about this map is that it makes you feel secluded in the middle of no-where since there is so many objects packed into a small area, and the surrounding area is a vast wasteland. Other then that, this map get's my high score! Definently try it out!

The attacking team starts out in the water with three vehicles(A hailfire, spider droid and AAT in CW; To ATSTs and an IFT in GCW) and make their way to a steep sandy ridge with some wookie buildings at the top. There are emplaced repeaters which IMO was pretty awsome.

In CW era the battle looks like it could have gone both ways but in GCW the rebels got slaughtered. Complete genocide.
This is the first file submitted by this author and it's a very good start. Since it's an invasion map and the odds are against the defenders it can be pretty tough so if you like a challenge I greatly recommend this.

Only problem I could see was the ATST/AAT moving into the side of a building. Because of size the AAT bounces off but the ATST tends to get stuck(as seen in the last screenshot).
