When you are in a room full of sparkly vampires and Star Trek fans, it might feel small.

I feel your pain. I wasn't necessarily in that specific situation, but I've been in many like that (mainly school).

Shockingly, very few people at my school have seen/care for Star Wars, so for me Star Wars is an extremely small collective. If anything, there's maybe at least 1 more person that cares about Star Wars, out of 220 students total.

You've just got to look for them. Small things that let people know what you spend 20 out of your 24 hours a day thinking about will let the other silent fans come to you.
