Title: Assassin's Creed Two for Mac! (Question inside)
Post by: Mac on January 07, 2011, 08:47:46 PM
So Assassin's Creed Two has become available for download on Steam for Mac users! I'm so excited, but I have a question about whether my Macbook can run the darn game.

Here are my specs:

2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB RAM
256 MB VRAM NVIDIA GeForce 9400M

Now, here are the minimum requirements listed on Steam:

Intel CoreĀ® 2 Duo 3.06 GHz
3 GB RAM
256 MB Dedicated Shader model 3.0 or higher

So my question is, could my computer technically chug along in Assassin's Creed 2, or would I need to upgrade my specs in order to run Assassin's Creed 2?

I don't think so.  technically, my macbook can run Force Unleashed (by barely meeting requirements), but when i play, it does about 1 frame per three seconds, so I use my desktop for it.  So, even if you have the bare minimum of 3.06 GHz, it probably won't play well enough to enjoy, and, if it somehow works on only 2GHz, then you might get some ridiculously slow rate like 1 frame per fifteen seconds.

Ac2 is an amazing on console but it preforms horribly on pc. One of the worst ports I've seen to be exact. I would steer clear If i were you
