SWBF1 Modding / Re: Tatooine: Dune Sea Exchange [WIP]
October 23, 2022, 01:50:15 AM
Thanks :) All 5 CPs are in as are the custom units I'm going with. I've just got some terrain issues to work out now - for some reason distance/low res terrain renders turqouise when saved and there appears to be bugs with the terrain in ZE. It's not exactly a complicated terrain but I'd rather fix those issues than restart the terrain itself (the whole project wouldn't have to be, thankfully)

Just an addendum: Sereja's probably not up to releasing much at all at the moment given the situation in his country. He always releases the assets of his finished maps, and as far as I know he has done so with all of them.

SWBF1 Modding / Tatooine: Dune Sea Exchange [WIP]
October 22, 2022, 03:45:44 AM
Having fallen out of map-making for a while, I decided to go back to an old map I had started some time ago but never completed. Much like Scarif: Landing Pad 13, this is effectively a 'demake' of a DICE Battlefront map. There will be a total of four or five command posts. It'll be a fairly small map and I plan on including custom sides ALA Scarif, Hoth and The Invisible Hand

Here's some shots in-editor and during the first-run test:

I've moved this into the SWBF2 Modding board since you've also posted about this on GameToast in the SWBF2 section.

As a piece of advice for the future: you're more likely to get the help you seek if you post your queries in the correct board :)

Quote from: wsa30h on October 04, 2022, 12:53:55 PMthe hud is hardcoded in both games

Not in SWBF2, it isn't. That's why custom HUDs are a thing there.

In theory: yes, it's possible to port over SWBF1's HUD to SWBF2. I don't think anybody's done it though.

So, is this something you're trying to do in BF1 or BF2?

SWBF 3 Legacy's assets are closed-source meaning they aren't publicly available.

The original models are out in the public so you could convert them to MSH.

I'm happy I still have my CD version of SWBF1.

Quote from: blob on September 03, 2022, 11:21:04 PMvery very impressed. does this work with steam version 1.2? i reverted back to that after the game was patched to death, it's the initial steam release vers.
good to see BF1 getting this treatment. it's just a much better game than the second, which feels more like a party game.

I don't believe so at current, no.

It should be stressed that, so far, this only applies to Steam/GOG versions of the game. HOWEVER, since this has been done it's bound to be translatable at some stage to the legacy (CD/DVD) versions of the game. I believe Dark_Phantom is angling towards something like this with those versions of the game.

I was actually kinda pontificating over a potential HD 'remaster' version of Star Wars: Battlefront of my own in the future. This sort of thing makes it much more plausible. So, good work!

Updated the link in the main post, but please: if a link of mine goes dead, you can drop me a PM instead of bumping.

SWBF2 Modding / Re: How to extract audio from mod map

Usually the credits inside a readme should list the sources used as well, including audio files. It's worth checking there first.
