Dark Souls

Anyone play Dark Souls here? It's not as hard as I expected, but holy  Havel is pissing me off. I've died like seven or eight times and every single time I do, he has like one hp left.

I used to play it, I got as far as Sens Fortress then I gave up. Do you use the online part? I play single player so I don't have the option to summon help.
Are you playing on PC with a controller or something else?
