- Have fun

In reality the spawn invincibility will help out in the long run with complaints. I have a feeling if people just constantly mine down and nade a CP, people will begin to complain a lot.
So this is a rebels vs empire battle right?
No spawn invincibility please... Everything about this war is perfect except spawn invincibility. If you really are adamant about it could we put it to a vote or something because personally spawn invincibility ruins the game for me more than being spawn killed :P
Would it be ebtter if I reduced the time down to like 1 or 2 seconds? this is just to prevent spawn killing with mines, which imo, is sort of unfair.
a second's good, if you give people too much time they'll be invincible to people shooting at them while they both have shots
I guess we could compromise at 1 second for mines :| but if you do once they land on it they will be flown off and will be easy pickings so theres not much of a chance that the 1 second will help them ;)

Yeah I know. :P But at least it gives you a bit more of a chance if someone leaves a mine at a CP and leaves it unguarded.
i think spawn invincibility is a bad idea. Just ban spawn mining.
Spawn mining should be allowed. If you take the time remember the spawns, then you deserve the kills imo.

I don't think their should be spawn mining, it's a cheap method to keep yourself safe. You could get 3 rockets and rush the CP and start laying mines everywhere. I've seen this happen before and, trust me, it's no fun for ANYBODY. People will leave if they start to think that it is getting ridiculous that they can't spawn without getting blown to hell and back in the first 3 seconds.
My opinion on the spawn invincibility is one second also. Any more than that and they get advantage shots over their opponents. But, and I'm just saying this because of reality, in the heat of battle, people will start REACTING to people that suddenly spawn instead of THINKING before they shoot lol. Just saying. When is the match going to be and who will be the host? Will we play both maps one after the other or will they be on separate dates? Thanks,

The determination has been made that there will be one second of spawn protection time on the server. That is the final verdict for this match.
The match time and host has not been determined as of yet. I believe the maps will be played one after another.
If TK is on, spawn mining with invincibility presents no advangtages to the miner.

if that miner feels like going kamikaze into the enemy base over and over, then he's not going to do much for his team. The point we made is that with TK on, there won't be any spawn mining at all, unless people are really stupid.
You can throw mines about 5ft if memory serves. That enough to envelope the outside of the base with mines.

For one, there's always the issue of opposite-spawn kill, when the spawner has fast enough reflexes to blow anyone in the vicinity sky high with a rocket. I've done it several times myself. It does feel a little cheep if you get that moment of invincibility to protect you while you're shooting down your enemy. :/

Yeah, Rhino is right. While SWBF Mac may be dead, it doesn't mean there aren't skillful players still playing the game (me, Rhino, my clan members, and Darth Bubba being the best as of now). But, again, it makes sense so I won't say anymore on the subject.

Not much we can do about that until a hoster offers to host.
I can host a DC at home. My upload speed has been increased recently also. But we can leave it to JK too :)
So how do you connect to DC? to you open SW then go to multiplayer or something like that.

Yes, go to the multiplayer menu, and join a direct connection.
It will ask for the IP, and hopefully at this point you have kept note of it, as it's
just a string of 'random' numbers.

Led and JK have both been excellent hosts. A DC afterall is the only possible way for both Mac and PC players to play on the same server (LAN doesn't really count unless everyone takes a trip to San Antonio and camp inside JK's home for a few weeks).
If for some emergency reason both of them cannot host, I'll open up to host seeing how I've done it a few times. :)

I should be able to make this- @Rhino, I'm sure that MF and Lief would understand the need of you to serve in this battle, it as the starting of the war is a key turning point in the moral of your team. Depending on if you win or lose here will define how the rest of the war will be set, defeat is a heavy weight on the next battle.

OK, but the test server (the CC test that you mentioned before) starts at 7 pm EST but the actual MATCH starts at 8 pm EST right? Or am I just completely wrong again XD?

All I did was ask if a tiem between 7-8EST works for people. Then I decided 8 would be the starting time, and I posted it in the OP. That is where you should ALWAYS look for info, it is for organisational purposes and to save you guys some time of looking through pages of info. But if you are unable to do that...

Yes, that's why the Empire are a great offensive team.
But the Rebels are far better at close quarters and defending... teams should play to their strengths rather than rushing for cps in a mess.
not really. Empire has excellent pilots that can spam with their grenade launcher. I always found that to be invaluable in a battle
My favorite part of the match was when phobos took the tank up on the hill and started shooting us rebels lol, it was crazy genius.
We're playing this as the game was meant to be played. There are ways to solve the problem like defending CP's.

That was because of the excess of chatting going on. Buckler has one of the best hosters around and if
he crashed pretty much everyone will when put under the same conditions.

To all of you complaining about restrictions or lack thereof:
Breakdown has clearly stated what the rules are. This game is played anything goes. There are no restrictions on what is allowed and what is not, beyond those stated in the first post of any match topic. In this case, the only rules were:
- No glitching
- No switching sides
- No whining
- No negativity towards server ("LAG!")
- No TKing
- Have fun
If you wish to impose your arbitrary restrictions on gameplay, you are more than welcome to do it in tournaments or events that you organize, and I will defend your right to do so in those advertised on my site. However, whatever rules you may use internally do not have a bearing on this tournament and complaining about them will serve no purpose other than to get you booted off the tournament.

A hung-up server has nothing to do with my internet connection, I assure you. Unfortunately, I was not able to participate in the tournament, or be at home when it occured. Otherwise, I may have been able to care for the server. When I got home, I was able to connect and play harbour.
I have previously hosted DC's every weekend for more than a year with at most one or two problems. So, issues are generally very rare.
In any event, feel free to step up and be a host!

Go for it. It's part of the game, and you can do it in the game without severe cheating so it's allowed.
Well there will be things that you like in a battle and things you dont like , the game is meant to have fun in not something worth whining over after the batttle. If anything we should thank BD for organizing another MPC tounament , hope to be there next week! :moo:

I concur.
From what I recall, spawn rape had a softban (trust system; we never banned it but for the most part we didn't abuse it too much) and it never really was an issue. Same applied to CP mining and other forms of unfair spawn rape. I was very surprised that it did become an issue this year.
The only thing I recall was people complaining about lag, which is inevitable for a game like SWBF.
I guess we could do a classic "Dea1, maz1, da1, cc, platforms" setup to eliminate the issues of vehicles. I am sorry to hear about it.
