Hey MPC,
as you know I recently started up a L4D2 league thing, go check it out! This will be sort of similar to that, but this will be more for fun than competition.
Alright, so this will be like a real time galactic conquest type thing. You post here and enlist under either the Rebels or the Empire. Also post your in game name.
The faction you choose will be the faction you will play under during every battle. if you manage to play
Every week I will draw a planet from a hat. This planet will be the week's battle and I will set up a time for it to happen. The matches will consist of two games, each playing the two different maps for the planet (example, platforms and cloud city for Bespin) Whichever faction wins the ENTIRE battle (wins over both maps) they will take control over the planet. If both factions win one out of two battles, the planet remains neutral. Easy enough.
If a planet is drawn that has only one map (like Endor) the map will be played twice.
The war will end once a faction completley controls all the planets.
It is not mandatory to play, if you can come, you can come. I will also restrict which faction you can join, to even out the teams. Example, if 10 people enlist for the empire and only 7 for the rebels, I will list empire as full until the teams even out.
All planets will start out neutral, except for the custom maps I choose. Each faction will have two custom map's controlled at start.
Post below who you want to enlist with, once we have a good amount of players, to war we go!

Saturday's and Sundays are when most of the matches will probably be.
Also, enlistment for the Empire is temporary closed down, so Rebels can get more members.
Nine people on Empire, six for the rebels. Once we get 16 on each team, enlistment will close, and we can beging. This is because 32 is the max players that can play in a match, unless you can get up to 50 on a DC.

Alright imperials only need one more player! Rebels still need quite a few, I'll let each team have 18 players though, rather than 16 which woul dbe the ingame limit. Because in all reality, it's HIGHLY doubtful everyone on a team will be able to make it.

We mostly do all units (but most of the time jets and special troopers like that are excluded or considered "nooby" so we normally don't do those) but we NEVER do CPs. Unless, for some reason, we are playing with bots lol.

Most of the time the older mac vets like no CPs - all units from what I've seen from my brief forays onto GR. At least that's the name of the game with CC. CPs are probably allowed with most other maps like mustafar, utapau, citadel. Haven't seen one of those maps played in ages, though.
I've heard pretty much everything from blasters to droidekas called nooby. Personally, I put zero stock in any of it. All units can be taken down. All it takes is some skill and a little bit of know-how on how the units work. Zappies, jets, blobbies, sure they're dangerous, just means you have to watch yourself. Doesn't mean the other player's a noob. You can kill him, he can kill you. It's the same as with all units. Jet troopers for example have low health. Makes blasting them down with a blaster not that difficult.
Each unit has its own advantages and disadvantages. Some people have used one unit more than others, which makes them naturally better with the individual units. It's called skill, not noobiness. If you can't beat someone using a particular type of unit, it just means you need to get better, not that the other needs to stop using his unit of choice.
Personally, I like variety. Blasters, blobbies, missiles, all make good sport. Once you get over the notion that you should have a positive score for reputation's sake things get a lot funner, IMHO.
Looking forward to this getting started. Haven't played a decent sized SWBF game in a long time. Btw, BD, might want to leave some spots open. It's perfectly plausible we might pick up stray players wanting to join for a couple maps and then disappearing again. I kinda doubt MF will be joining, but it might be nice to leave it possible for people like him who aren't interested in signing up the option of participating.
Thanks Rhino and yeah, I know. I do play on hard on SP alot when nobody is on GR and I do really well (EX: 73 kills 0 deaths 3 CPs with a grunt). I can hold my own one on one versus anybody with them using any unit and I personally don't care if that person uses a jettie or any other of those classes as long as it is an even match (EX: 3.vs.3 or 1.vs.1). There is only one exception to this. Like, one time, I was playing these three guys (3.vs.1) and the score was 192-174 me and this one guy started using a jet and I didn't really care since I was pwning them so bad :P. But if you know Darth Bubba (the only guy on Mac SWBF that gives me a great challenge one on one) he started using a jet in a 2.vs.1 (the one being me) and I got kinda pissed since Darth was so good anyway. But, I still held my own :P lol. But, almost all the time I'm cool with it. Doesn't mean I won't get annoyed, but I'll live with it 8) lol. Are we allowed to use any class in this SWBF War thing? Like, are there really any rules once we are on the battlefront?

We can use any class during the War. Rules: (If we are playing by MPC rules) No cursing is the main one. Not much else I can think of. In the tournys we have had Spawn killing/CP mining so I'm not sure what goes.
I like matches where you actually have to put some strategy in it to win. 4 on 4+ with cps are the only way you can do that ;)

Any class: All the CPs you can take: No glitching: No cursing: No complaining about lag, spawn killing or basically anything else: If you have nothing positive/fun to say, don't say it, shut-up and deal with it. No one wants to hear about YOUR problems.
Of course these rules are subject to BDs authorization and/or amendment.

And yeah, these wars will be played the way the game was MEANT to be played. CP's, all classes, you can mien spawns, whatever you want to do. It's going to be authentic SWBF. However, I am thinking of introducing things like class upgrades after a team win, a mini game sort of of zombie mode. However I will see about that, it might make it too confusing for some people to download new SIDES and replace the old ones properly etc.
Also, basically what SchTicK said is correct. I'll quote it here again in case you missed it.

I don't want any negativity. If you start whining about how the game is being played, like "OMG I HATE JETS" or "UGH, this is so unfair", you'll be booted from the session. It may be a bit harsh, but this War is going to be a FUN experience, not a whine-fest. Led has the best servers if he is able to host a majority of these, I don't want ANY complaining about lag. Got it?

Strategy can also go into a no cp game with 1.0 rules (old school ). Determining whether to go 2 hall/2 flank, or 1 hall, 2 walkway, and 1 flank, its all based on your team/clan skills and how they play (close or long). Determining who is best on the team and strong in which spot is crucial.
There's no need to fly around like all them jetboys that call themselves the best because they can come behind or out of nowhere and shoot you in the back of the head. (half the time they still miss. lmao)
If there is Cp mining in this war, can we not play with a spawn invincibility timer? there's no point in getting shot 4 times before dying.
I'm not sure if you can get spawn invisibility on DC's? Is it possible?
Either way, I'll post all the server set up info once the teams are filled. Bamdur informed me that penguin wishes to be on Rebels, so there is a spot open on Empire!

There's one spot left on each main roster. However there are also two extra spots (in case not everyone shows up) that can be filled.
So, Gree, is your 4-5 people want to join get em in now before some others take the spots, I can't reserve them!
Also, Soap, no, you must be signed uphere in order to participate. If a server can't fill out to a 16v16 match, we can easily adjust to a 10vs10 or 11vs11 etc. As long as the teams are equal the show will go on.

Festus and CT would be 2 of my members and there are two others that MIGHT be interested but they don't have accounts on MPC yet, I think. I'll tell them to as soon as possible. I know one of my members, Blitz, wants to and he is in the process of signing up to MPC and trying to figure out how to work the forums lol. If you read up a bit further I stated that if full teams do not show up that match can be adjusted to be 10v10 etc. As long as even sides are there, the game will go on. Spots will not always be open, I do not want random people joining, it is harder to keep track of the true roster, because at the end the team that wins will likely get a prize of sorts (forum related)
