You did a really good job on this  :)

Quote from: Zombie Hotel Developer on June 15, 2011, 08:30:17 PMThe 90 degree angles in the hallway were specifically designed with a collision which allowed perfectly aligned corner shots to penetrate the wall.

This is false, and is not [edited by buckler] how the battlefront collision system works. It was an accident, that could have been fixed, but was most likely not found, but in no way did Pandemic do this intentionally.

It is at least considered a cheat, no argument. And it is a glitch.

They already did. It was Star Wars Battlefront Elite Squadrons. But they only made it for PSP and XBOX which im kinda mad about.

SWBF: ES was made for the PSP and Nintendo DS. Not the xbox, but yes, they took SWBF3 and turned it into SWBF: ES.

Hey there, can you be more specific as to what happened? Did anything happen recently that made it stop working or anything like that? And define "broken".

edit: jdee-barc beat me to it  :slap:

ok, i guess it has almsot nothing to do with it.

In response to Zombie Hotel Dev, I say that you are being slanderous with what you say about the Gametoast Staff (including what you say about them in your signature) and a bit misguided with your ideas about modding the application itself

-Battlebelk didn't mod the actual battlefront.exe, which came with the game and cost money. He modified the sptest.exe, which was for testing and debugging, not playing, and came with the FREE mod tools.

-Battlebelk is one person so LucasArts didn't care about what he did.

-Modding the actual exe is a pretty clear violation of the license (i just read it). because it says its illegal.

Personally,  i believe modding the executable for yourself, for your own benefit, should be fine as long as you keep it to yourself. But if you release a 6-unit, feature-packed enabled patch to the executable on like LucasForums or Filefront's SWBF section, then LucasArts will probably notice and then you might get into some legal trouble.

I concur.

Furthermore, editing the .exe would never get you a 6th unit. The best hope would be to recreate all the Lua files we dont have, and then you could probably change those to add more units. The .exe has little to do with how the game operates, its in mainly the Luas that do all the work. The Luas tell the .exe what to do, not the other way around. And editing the luas, if we had them, would be perfectly legal.

And dont think I wouldn't hesitate to report anyone trying to distribute an edited .exe
If you want a 6th unit, mod BF2.

The Mind Trick weapon is used like a force power. It changes the team of whatever unit it hits to your team for awhile, and they fight for you. It can not be done in BF1, as BF1 has a very limited lua command list.

Furthermore, It is unnecessary to continue bashing the staff at GT because you couldnt follow simple rules that you felt were unfair.

In DT2 the space heroes were unarmed yes, but not in my TCW mod.

And I wanted to correct myself earlier, when I said
"The only thing you really could do in BF2, is The 3 customizable units."
I meant
"The only thing you really could not do in BF2, is The 3 customizable units"

I am the first person to put the Mind Trick into a mod, as I am the first person that thought of the idea and had the ability to do it. It is done through a special Lua command created by a friend Fiodis.

Its a nice layout ggctuk, but I would like to mention a few things.
A) 90% of what you said could be done in BF2. Space Heroes and Space Hero vehicles are something that can be found in DT2 and my TCW mod.
B) The default space hero for the CIS shouldn't be Dooku, the Solar Sailor isn't made for combat, so he should never be a space hero. Grievous is a good default.
C) One of those things I mentioned that can be done in BF2, is the Mind Trick, I made a Mind Trick weapon that changes the team of the unit it hits to your team.
D) Things that you left out that I feel should be mentioned.
D.1) Advanced Squad commands, more like in Battlefront 1, but just more effective.
D.2) Prone.
D.3) A good grappling hook weapon, and more ODF types too.

I could go on and on here. The only thing you really could do in BF2, is The 3 customizable units. You could do random heroes to go and forth between the 2 heroes, like I have done for my TCW mod. And space to ground maps can be done, not perfectly, but it can be done.

No offence to what your doing jdee-barc but modifying the exe is against the EULA that comes with the modtools which makes it illegal to do. I would strongly advise against it.

I concur.
And it is easy to remove heroes without modifying the exe, you can even do it via the settings before you start an online game, a lot of people dont though.

This mod is looking good, I will definitely keep an eye on it.  ;)

All True BF3 news is old to me, I keep myself very up to date on that.

And you would be better off editing the BF2 exe, regardless of legality. BF1 is great and all, but has a lot more limitations that BF2 doesn't have. If you could add prone, strafe, the 4 squad commands, and the grappleing hook back into BF2, and make some really good mods, mainly scripting, and updating graphics and a few new amazing maps, and you have BF3.

Many mods for Star Wars Battlefront 2 have been about the Clone Wars. However, none have focused on the TV show like this. Great effort has been put into this era mod to make you feel like you are fighting in "The Clone Wars." It includes all the features players have come to expect from high quality era mods: New classes, AI heroes, unit models, weapons, animations and more.
And this mod includes many clone trooper legions, including the famed 501st, 327th and the 212th, as well as new clones like the Wolfpack Troopers; they are randomized from mission-to-mission, so you get a different legion every match.
The mod also features many heroes who have rarely or never been seen before. These include Ahsoka Tano, Cad Bane, Padme Amidala, Barriss Offee and more. Plus, classic heroes done in TCW Style, like Obiwan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Asajj Ventress and more. Jedi heroes are assigned to their clone legions. But with SWBF2's hero system, only one hero is available per legion. By randomizing the heroes along side their clone legion, this will ensure  that each hero will have a fair chance to command his or her troops. For example, when the 501st is the playable legion, the hero will either be Anakin or Ahsoka since they both command this legion.  In addition, every clone legion has a clone "hero," like Commander Cody, Captain Rex, Commander Wolffe, and many others.
The CIS has not gone unchanged; their whole setup reflects what is seen in "The Clone Wars." Many special CIS units are randomized from mission-to-mission. For instance, one match you may have an Ultra Droideka to fight as or against and other times an Elite Commando Droid.
In addition, the stock maps have had changes. Many maps were given randomized and appropriate  weather. For example, a match on Tatooine could take place in the middle of a sunny day as usual. However it could also take place in the middle of the night under the moons or during a dust storm facing the elements.
Also, probability determines the role of the Republic and CIS as either defender or attacker; the clones may invade a CIS-held Kashyyyk, or the Republic may be retaking their capital of Coruscant.
As an added bonus, Rahm Kota's Republic Militia is randomized as a "clone legion," allowing you to fight as Rahm Kota and his padawan Falon Grey before The Force Unleased. The Militia is a group of volunteer soldiers that Rahm Kota handpicked himself due to his mistrust of using clone troops.
With more surprises to come and planned expansion packs, this mod should keep you playing for a long long time...
