That is not how you create an official event. You should suggest it to the staff and let them decide if they wanna do it. That said, I would be up for something like that.

He's talked to me and I copied Unit 33 to encourage him to make a contest.  That said, I think we need to work on the parameters, etc. so feel free to make suggestions.

So can we have the event or not? I don't mind if someone such as led makes it official but I think it should happen just like I said in my first post of this thread. Who ever makes it official, please make a link to the new thread...

I think this is be fine. It'd a good idea to start organising modding competitions. If not, by 2018 I may do so.

Ok, so back to the actual competition...
Post a download below and it has to be YOUR OWN mod. It has to be a mod that hasn't been entered into a comp before. :cheer:

If anyone wants to judge then please ask below but you can only judge if you haven't entered yourself.

End date is 30th October 2017 (UK time) and winners are announced 31st (UK time).
Good Luck!! :moo:

Judges must be Master Modders from this website or Staff members.

As for the rest, I think it is fine.

Two questions :

1- Is it just a normal competition organized for Halloween or has it to be related to the event

And

2- What does it takes to be Master Modder ?

Well it is meant to be a Halloween mod and if not, it has to be something to do with zombies. Would you be entering?

So, Enter below please and if any master modders or staff want to judge, send a personal message to me.

It should be Halloween-Related, otherwise we would organise another one non related to the topic.

To be a Master Modder u must contribute with excelent expertise on modding.

If no Master Modder wanna be judge, we can always add a poll, and see what the community decides.

Well, zombies would be a bit too complicated to do if you ask me, like, if I start working on such a mod, I'm affraid that I would loose my sanity and become this *COUGH*
(https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/quake/images/6/62/Quake_Live_-_Phobos_%287%29.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/640?cb=20141216050029)
A jack o lantern head mod for StormTroopers is the kind of thing I have in mind.  :P

Well that will do, When you've done, attach the file then I will give it to whoever the judge is. I'm trying to make zombie storm troopers and ghost buster rebels but they all go blank. That's what my other topic was about. ;)

Imma be judge. Should be convenient since I will change my Community Role in some time.

Gah, I would like to but I'm absolute 0 with 3d mod tools, I'm better when tinkering with code...
Good luck with your ghostbusters mod though, if you manage to make the units I bet I could help with the code, and if you manage to create a proton gun I bet I could get it to work a bit like in the movies.

A darn shame this is BF1, you had me interested and I even came up with a concept to go alongside the Mod/Maps/Factions I already want to create / add to BF2... :(

Halloween Contest Concept
KotoR Korriban Sith Temple Map
Custom Side Sith Ghosts vs Jedi Padawan in Training
No Weapons only Force Powers
Force Deflect vs Mind Control

First Idea

One Jedi Base – Can't Be Captured
Top of the stairs / entrance to the temple.
Various Sith Spawn points, the Sith camera would show you the interior of the temple and allow you to pick a spawn location and a ghost class with a specific sound or look to scare your enemies.

Second Idea

Korriban Sith Temple
Include Courtyard Entrance
Four Temples & Ebon Hawk Landing Easter Egg ie KotoR 2 Return to Korriban

Both based on Korriban from KotoR 1 / 2

The idea is there anyway, but I am definitely the sort of person to shelve the idea :( especially now I see this is a BF1 contest.

But at the least I have written it alongside the rest of my documentation and ideas for compiling a massive 2017 mod pack hopefully with the help of many people from swbfgamers ^ _ ^

I will ask Anyder if you can enter a BF2 mod. He's judging them so I bet if he has BF2 then he is willing to test your mod. ;)

Well, I would not like to limit the amount of mods participating, despite being on the SWBF1 Category, so feel free to submit any SWBF2 Mod.

Awesome to know :) and may I ask why is it that some of you lot here at swbfgamers seem to favor BF1 over BF2 so much?

If I focus, this could be a great starting point to making the mod / collection I want to make.

Battlefront 1 has a much better graphic quality in my opinion.

I will get myself a copy of BF1 soon and check it out :) if that is the case perhaps I should make the Mod Pack for BF1 or make them Cross Compatible for BF1 & BF2 / a version for each :)

I also forgot how BF2 added Jedi to the Mix where as they were not playable in BF1.

It's not because of anything.
SWBFGamers.com has always been focused on SWBF1 more than on SWBF2 cause we didnt get many swbf2 modders. Most of them were on Gametoast, and since Gametoast banned the entire world, we were not able to keep up with the released mods and stuff.

"banned the entire world" that sounds like a sad state of affairs... :(

Going to get myself a copy at some point and check out some BF1 mods when I can ^^

I have signed up to gametoast, but have not had an authentication yet.

U do not need a modding PC. U can always create VIrtual Machine with Oracle.
I have several runing different OS (Win & Linux) with both 32bit and 64bit to be used for different purposes

I'd be willing to be a judge. I can only actually play on SWBF1 but I guess Anyder can just send me video of his gameplay of any SWBF2 mods/maps to judge off of.

well a single core with 3 gigs of ram on the host PC is not idial for a virtual machine. but I have tryed and it gives me the runtime error.(on zero edit in VM)
altho this problem can be solved using a early win10 build i got a while ago its just too slow to run the VM.(64bit win10 iso)

And also I have a qustion:
WHAT IDIOT DESIGNED A WIN7 64! BIT PC WITH 3 GIGS OF RAM A SINGLE CORE CPU AND NO GRAPHICS CARD!
THEY COULD HAVE AT LEAST GAVE IT 4 GIGS LIKE A SANE PERSON!
(this was when windows7 was first comming out)
Sorry for the rant its just that it is so slow.
but A friend of mine has a PC he dose not use anymore that is probally capable of SWBF modding.
so i will see if i can get that. (just FYI I do not usally go asking people for things.and I am shure he wont mind..... but thats probally what we all think!  :P)
than all i need is time. 8)

thanks for your help. and I agree VMs are so usefull...and downright fun. ecspesialy when retro gaming. and playing around with old OSes and testing new ones.

Nobody has submited anything so far. Don't worry if you can't get your mod ready for the 31st, we'll try to organise a modding competition around Christmas!

I am just making the finishing touches to my mod. It was going to be zombie faces but it appears something has gone wrong with the textures and it is just white. If i can get it to work, i will but if not then it will just be slenderman faces.

Sorry CC-1000 but Anyders is right. No one else has entered and therefore the competition must be delayed. I think christmas is a bit too far and I don't want to keep you waiting. I have therefore changed the end date to the last day of November (UK time).
And, It is still only Halloween mods.

By the way, I'm having the same 'texture' problem with my mods so, if you get it to work, please let me know.

Actually, no.
If there are no submitions, the event will just get cancelled, and another one will be announced.
