FRAPS is not free, if you want to have more than 30 sec. of video/ Don't want legal problems. I'll copy what it says on fraps thing about unregistered and copy it below

(it seems i cant copy directly so i will paraphrase}
(for unregistered)loop recording disabled
fraps watermark
maximum of 30 sec. recording
screenshots saved to BMP format

Most of these no problem if you are just recording for fun, but with only 30 sec. of recording, you can only make montages (very hard to press F9 and then kill someone but eh.) Not a problem if you can deal with all of that though.

French, this isn't really helping the problem, we can go to the fraps site and see that, what we NEED is a list of programs that can record in-game.
--------------------------------------------
I found .gex (gamemaker GML extension files), that will allow me to record video from any window or application, now I just need to implant it into a game, and tell it to read specificly from game windows and not just desktop screen, I sure hope this works :P

Oh, and it does not support sound files, so it could record video, but not audio, I'll keep trying though.

I agree with RC (Too lazy to write the whole name x) )

Another thing about that recorder, could it perhaps view elements on the battlefield in real time? Like as in you can pause the video and go around the map and see where other people were? I know I'm sort of drawing off of what Halo Reach and Halo 4 do, but it would be cool, if possible.

Perhaps a rewording there, I meant as in after you have recorded it, you can still go around the map and spectate, unless I already said that. :P

I've been loyal to Fraps for ~5 years. It's an absolutely great program. It records EVERYTHING perfectly. It'll also record your desktop fine if you're recording more than just games.

If you want to pause the gameplay and view around the map, you're out of luck. You could install the freecam mod for SWBF but that's about as much as you can do. Forget about spectating other players.. unless someone figured it out by now.

Nice  :tu: Not having sound would not be a problem for me. The montage will have music to it. Plus I play with the sound off anyway  :shrug:

Also, ONLY FRAPS record only the game (if u play it like me, Windowed, it doesnt record Desktop)

Sony Vagas is the best for editing imo. Just look at some of deagles or dumbledores vids to see the end result :P

Remember, the editing program is only as good as the person using it. Windows Movie Maker is relatively easy to use. The potential for great special effects isn't there, but there are a lot of tricks you can use to get similar effects.
