Making custom skins.

Are there any tutorials on how to, or any way to make a custom SWBF1 skin with a SWBF2 format but, custom painted?

whats the program that allows you to make custom skins?

if by custom skins, you mean painting new colors, then GIMP will work.  Follow the directions in that second link above.

if by custom skins you mean new models, then my understanding is that XSI is what you want (but good luck with that, it is crazy)

Are there any other better ways on making skins for units? just reskining them.

I'm not sure what you mean by better--could you clarify?

If you mean easier, not much is easier than gimp, although it is difficult to know what part of the skin you are editing.

Well in Snake's SWBF2 to SWBF2 Tutorial it gives a link to the SWBF2 Mod Tools that you need and the link is broken...any idea where I can find another link to the SWBF2 mod tools?
