Hi Tyllo

Here is the command I use for the jet droid server:

battlefront.exe /win /norender /noteamdamage /autonet dedicated /resolution 320 240 /nosound /noaim /tps 30 /gamename SWBFgamers.com-UPDATE1.0Patch1 /playerlimit 32 /playercount 1 /bots 8 /difficulty 2 /throttle 3072 /spawn 5 L0035x 200 200 L0036x 200 200 L0004x 200 200 L0030x 200 200 L0031x 200 200 L0032x 200 200 L0003x 200 200 L0033x 200 200 L0034x 200 200

As an author myself, I think that copyrighted works need to be protected and the authors' compensated  8)

But you know that copyright terms have been extended and extended again since the original copyright act of 1790.

http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ1a.html
go near the end of that page for details

It used to be 14 years, with a 14 year renewal.
Then 28 years, with a 14 year renewal.
Then 28 years with a 28 year renewal.
Then the life of the author plus 50 years after that.
Then life plus 70 years.

I think that this is a real shame since I think it can stifle creativity.  One could argue that the copyright should be a shorter term now in the information age than in 1790.

And who holds the copyright?  Usually not the author, but the distributor is assigned the copyright by the author, because they control everything and it won't go anywhere without it.

So, I think what we are witnessing is the thrashing of a failing revenue model.  MPAA can still get the government to go after players that don't follow the rules so the distributor is not shut out of their cut.  Those are the rules, and that is fine.  But--who do you think help make those new sets of rules, particularly the time extensions :)

Anyway, my main concern was that I hope no one lost assets due to them being shut down.

(It really bugs me when filefront loses stuff.  I encourage anyone that make models or assets to upload them here.  After my initial 3-year lease on this website is up, I plan to renew it for (at least) another 10.  Even if we are all long gone from SWBF, your content will be available for a long time.  :)  )

I don't hate them, but I don't really care for them either.

My big complaint with jets is really with Zero itself.  I miss the skiing abilities of Tribes.
(Using gravity, inertia, small hops, light jet pulses, and terrain countours to gather tremendous speed with minimal effort.)
Without the 'bounce' to it, the jets are kinda flat feeling.

Id rather walk. (Or nade launch.. same thing ... or not.)

You should try the jet droid.  The settings for it sound similar to what you describe.

That vermin slipped through the spam stoppers for the forum--although since it was a gmail account, I did have to give the final ok by hand.

I suspect that not many here are interested in fake Coach purses anyway.

All taken care of now :)

how do you do this?
http://www.secretsociety.com/forum/display_message.asp?mid=1181

ok, maybe not an answer about how, but why you don't want to change the decay rate.

(I recalled this thread, and thought there was an answer.  I will change the answer to "maybe" through exe hex edit :P )

yes, please make a new topic.  I have done it for you this time.

Bodies can be set to decay more slowly.  However, this comes at a cost--it eats memory. The game now
has to keep track of the collision of all those bodies.  You will be more likely to lag and crash.

I made a purple-ish jet pack skin--

sounds like some TGA file for the skin is missing, or else is was saved with RLE compression.

For SWBF TGA files, be sure to save them with RLE compression off.
