Does anybody have the BF1 ClassReference stuff from psych0fred's site? It's temporarily removed from his site while the bot problem is dealt with. I had an idea for a dispensible scanner or a Scan Dart-like weapon but I want to check to see if it would work.

General / Secret Society currently not hosting Battlefront files or forum backup
October 12, 2025, 07:01:39 AM
Continuing the trend of Battlefront's apparent dying days, it looks like Secret Society has removed the forum archive and downloads pages entirely from their site.
Between this and Gametoast going, it really feels like we've reached the end of an era, but it doesn't quite feel like it should be given all the new things that are still happening in the modding space for these games.
EDIT: it has been brought to my attention that Secret Society was suffering a bot attack and the pages have been taken offline temporarily while they look for a solution.

Released Maps and Mods / Lord_Bandu's Jedi Temple Training Hall (SWBF1) - Updated by me
August 19, 2025, 01:17:26 PM
As the title says. Earlier this year, in an effort to get back into modding, I decided to try a small project. I decided to take on doing some updates to Lord_Bandu's Jedi Temple Training Hall, which never left beta in SWBF1 before he moved onto SWBF2 and then eventually vanished.
This is realased as-is. I have made changes to the map itself to try and add detail, I have also redone the sides. This was a fun little project to help me get back into the swing of things. balance is probably off but I could spend forever tweaking that. I may go back and make further changes to the sides later down the line though. For instance the Droideka's not too useful on this map as it can't climb the. stairs properly.
Unlike Bandu's original version, which only had Clone Wars Era, I have included a 'Galactic Civil War' option which is 501st vs Jedi.
DOWNLOAD
This is for SWBF1 only. I will not be publicly releasing the assets for the map at this time, but I would be willing to pass the Data folder on to anyone who would like to convert the map to SWBF2.

SWBF1 Modding / Lord_Bandu's Jedi Temple Training Hall - Updated by Giftheck
June 03, 2025, 01:54:31 PM
Remember Lord_Bandu's Jedi Temple Training Hall? It was a map made by Lord_Bandu back in 2005, but it was only ever released in a beta stage before the SWBF2 tools came out and Bandu moved over and started making other things. The map's assets were largely unfinished, and Bandu used the Stormtrooper as a stand-in for the Phase II Clone Trooper, since we didn't have official models at the time.
I decided I would like to try and bring that map up to a more polished standard, fix a few of the issues with it (primarily with sparseness of the middle of the map) and update a few models here and there. I've also gone and reworked the sides inspired by the ones Bandu originally put together but with my own spin on things - this includes altering the CIS sides as well, and including the 'Galactic Civil War' era in - which is essentially Order 66 mode, with the 501st going up against the Jedi.
I'm using this project to revitalise my interest in modding. So far it's been working for me. IDK if I'll end up releasing this or not yet, but I thought I'd show it off anyway.
Here's a video of the current build:

General / GameToast is dead

As of 15 May, 2025, trying to access GameToast will now redirect you to this:
You cannot view this attachment.
Efforts by the GameToast moderators to contact guru, the site's admin, in order to either get the site restored or to facilitate the backing up of all the information on the site have so far not born bruit. It seems the days of GameToast are truly over.
Currently, there are some backups of the site on the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine, but these are incomplete and possibly outdated: https://web.archive.org/web/20250000000000*/gametoast.com
As of right now, SWBFGamers is currently the 'last man standing', so to speak - the only SWBF modding site still currently available.
EDIT: As of the end of September 2025, GameToast is officially closed. The url simply shows this message:

Star Wars Battlefront (2004 Original) / Battlefront July 2003 Prototype
April 16, 2025, 02:29:22 AM
A prototype version of Battlefront from July 2003 has been uncovered, and it's quite vastly different from the final game - it has Hoth and Geonosis only, and there are only 3 classes (Assault, Repair, Demolition). The maps themselves are also vastly different from the final version - those who have been around long enough will recognise Geonosis as psych0fred posted it to SecretSociety.

Released Maps and Mods / Sixth Unit Restoration Project - Open Beta
January 23, 2025, 01:47:36 AM
Here's an initial version of the Sixth Unit Restoration Project for people to play around with. This is not a final version, I'm still tweaking bits and pieces, but so far I'm happy with what I've got.
You require the SWBFSpy exe found here, and Dark Phantom's BF1 Memory Extender, found here, in order for this to work. At present, this does not support the Classic Collection release, but given the intent of this project, I'm intending on releasing the Data folder once this gets up to V1, which will include the mission scripts as well so anybody wishing to port this over to the CC version of SWBF1 can do so.
DOWNLOAD
There are a couple of nice little surprises I've added in as well, but I'll leave it up to you to find those out for yourself. If you have suggestions for further balancing, please let me know 🙂 I think in a general sense there's a happy medium that I think I'm hovering around but I'm not 100% sure I've hit it yet.

SWBF1 Modding / Sixth Unit Restoration Project
January 20, 2025, 02:33:57 PM
Hey all!
First, I would like to thank Dark Phantom for his excellent work on cracking the unit selection screen to allow for up to 10 selectable units. This was something I threw together fairly quickly to test it out - a prototype restoration for the cut sixth unit from Star Wars: Battlefront. As these are prototypes, they may not align perfectly with how a finished, polished version of these units would work. Phantom's work will blow open the possibilities for new mods for the game. So once again, I would like to extend my thanks.
Here's a video of the initial prototype:
With the public release of his patcher, I am currently working on a more polished version of this with a couple of nice surprises thrown in for good measure. Including the sixth unit (or 'seventh' for the CIS - as I am also including the Battle Droid alongside the Super Battle Droid to offer a bit of faction-exclusive variety!) has actually changed the game in some pretty fun ways, and I can't wait to be able to finish this off and show it to you all.
Additional credit to psych0fred as the Imperial Officer and Rebel Spy are based off the units he provided for his Chain Isle map.

SWBF1 Modding / Crash on certain maps when droids explode on death
September 07, 2024, 02:58:01 AM
I'm encountering a peculiar crash on two of Red04's maps: Utapau and Mygeeto.
If the Droideka explodes, the game immediately crashes. I'm told this might be a collision issue because it has happened in SWBF2 on Mygeeeto as well.
Anybody come across this and found a fix?
EDIT: this issue also occurs with the standard battle droid explosions too.
EDIT 2: investigating further, the compiled versions of these maps are about 4MB lighter than the ones in Red04's addon pack and I can't figure out why - I've not changed anything about Utapau to begin with and the only thing changed on Mygeeto was changing the Bespin AAA turrets to Recoilless turrets.

General / Supported email domains?
August 04, 2024, 12:48:19 AM
Thanks to Yahoo's total incompetence with handling spam attacks, I've decided to retire my Yahoo account entirely in the near future. I will need to change my associated email address here. I primarily use my GMail account but I remember the last time I tried to change that, I was locked out because this site isn't okay with GMail. My other account is a Hotmail account. Is that a viable alternative?

SWBF1 Modding / Endor: Imperial Base [WIP]

The third and quite possibly final map in my SWBF2015 Demake series is one I've wanted to tackle ever since I first started this little side project.
Progress is bit-by-bit, so here's some shots so far.

Heroes will be the Emperor for the Empire, and Princess Leia for the Rebels.

General / A hacker has tried to take down SWBF Discord communities
March 03, 2024, 01:35:30 AM
Just a word of warning: a hacker has compromised iamashaymin's (the SWBF3 Legacy lead developer) account and has already tried to compromise other accounts in an attempt to close down SWBF-related Discord servers - SWBF3 Legacy's official server and the Gametoast server were targeted. If anybody here is on Discord and has been in contact with shaymin prior, you might want to block and report that account, and be sure to change passwords if you use the same password outside of Discord just to be sure. And remember: if somebody suddenly sends you something on Discord that is unsolicited, and makes a request like "hi, please test my game", then it's 99% an attempt to hijack your account.
This particular hacker masqueraded as shaymin by providing details that related to the community, such as certain in-jokes in the community, so be extra vigilant.

This thread is for people to post if they come across an asset with a dead link. Basically this is meant to serve as an SWBFGamers version of Gametoast's 'Help finding a pre-existing asset' thread.
DO:
-Tell us the asset and post a link to the thread it was originally in as a reply to this thread.
DON'T:
-Bump topics with dead links.
-Request new assets. This is not the place for it.

Released Maps and Mods / Naboo: Siege Of Theed
November 25, 2023, 02:41:43 AM
This is Naboo: Siege of Theed, inspired by the 1999 Phantom Menace video game. TBH, I lost my modding mojo for quite a while, so I did this little project to help me get it back.
It can be played in both Clone Wars (Trade Federation Vs Royal Naboo Security Forces) and Galactic Civil War (501st Legion Triton Squad vs Royal Naboo Security Forces).

Released Maps and Mods / Hoth: Rebel Base (EABF map demake)
November 18, 2022, 12:29:15 PM
Here is my newest map, Hoth: Rebel Base. It's a 'demake' of the map from the 2015 game, with custom sides. A total of 6 CPs are in this map, 12 AI per side since it is a fairly small map, 175 reinforcements in total. Unlike Dune Sea Exchange (which has also been updated, BTW) this map is more 'closed'.
