Space Battle Map Request

Hm, I don't think I've ever posted here, before. I suppose there's a first time for everything.  8)

Now, I'm not sure if this idea has been posted in some form before, but I don't think so.

Now, this was a map I've always wanted to play. A space map, with actual fighting in it. :P This would preferrably be CW.

Basic idea, two capital ships, pretty close by each other. These capital ships would either be Command Posts, or have pieces of them operate as destructible cps. I'll get to the why later. These capital ships would preferably have two hangers, each with 8 or so fighters in it, and 1 landing ship in it.

Now, I heard (HC, I think) talking about automated turrets and that got me thinking that this idea might actually be possible. Basically, each ship will have say, 7 or so automated turrets, (model would be the Anti aircraft turret on Bespin), It'd be nice if the Clone turrets had blue lasers but red works to. These turrets would basically be shooting the other capital ship or fighters that got in range, operating basically as a normal bot would. (If the automated turrets are too complicated I suppose having normal turrets with bots entering into them would work to, but not as well).

Basic layout of a ship, T stands for turrets. There probably should be a hallway linking the two hangars, and extra space in the ships would be nice, though not necessary. Preferrably, bot routes for most bots would be to run back and forth in the ships.

Now for the bot routes for the fighters. I was thinking that the landing ships, should have a relatively straight line over to the opposite enemy hangar, and dock (I noticed that the gunships seem to have designated landing locations on Geonosis and Bespin Platforms), then fly back to it's hangar dock and then go back and forth until it dies. Fighters from the right hangar would curve to meet the opposing fighters from the left hangar and vice versa. After the initial clash they would swing around in a semi circle and reengage. There would be a few bot routes that take them over the enemy ships, but the majority of the fighting should take place in between the two capital ships.

The basic idea is two capital ships firing at each other with a bunch of fighters fighting in between them. The trajectory of the fighters should be in pretty wide arcs so it looks like the fight is covering more room. The destructible command posts are for when fighters are no longer in range of the turrets. It's probable that even more fighters might be needed if the turrets are too effective.

If the automated turrets doesn't work, then having normal turrets with bots (routes) to run and fill them would (I suppose) work as well. I'd prefer though the turrets to be pretty much constantly firing while their alive. Or at least one turret per ship firing. These turrets damage levels should probably be reduced slightly from the game (as I know the bots are annihilators with them), and the ships should have slightly upped endurance. If the ships could respawn faster that would be nice to.

Reinforcement count should be relatively low, ranging around 50-100, I think.

Dude i saw a map like that. it had so many cool ships and reactors on the capitol ships, and the entire thing was destructible. its probably in your map list.

You're talking about Battle Over Coruscant, I presume. The reason I didn't really care for this map that much, was that it was completely useless in SP. The bots had about the brains of a chameleon, and I'm being complimentary here. :P That was my big problem with that map, anyway. The ships were awesome, true, but after you tried out all the ships, things began to get a little dull. It was mainly an "eye candy" map IMHO.

Btw, I sense from your post that you think I'm Ryanoceros? If you think this, then don't, because I'm a different person. ;)
