Requests / Re: SWBF GI Joe Mod?
December 14, 2009, 10:57:44 PM
I've used gimp for editing photos, but I didn't know you could make 3D models that can be ported into the game.  Is there a tutorial on this?  Btw, I have a Mac.
  mucho thankso,

Does anyone know of an SWBF mod where you can play GI Joe characters (e.g., Cobra Commander, Snake Eyes)?

Thanks for the Beachead map Hardcore.  Unfortunately, when I try it on my iBook Pro SWBF runs impossibly slow.  Not other mod or map has ever done this.  I've tried quitting all my other programs, but to no avail.  :'(

Thanks for the responses.
On filefront, I found a couple of mods like this:
http://starwarsbattlefront.filefront.com/file/Jawa_and_Geonosian_Mod;32293

On that one, the rebel pilot is replaced by a jawa with a rifle.  On the other, all the rebels are replaced by jawas with rifles.  Unfortunately, that's the only weapon they have.  No nades, no mines, no health/ammo, nuttin.  How are the poor little guys supposed to take on the empire with pistols?  One kneecap at a time?

If any of you have links to the more high powered jawa mods, I'd love to play them.  keenmike are you on a Mac?  A Mac is all I've got.

Does anyone know of a SWBF mod where you can play armed jawas?  It would make my day play a jawa with a missile launcher.  I've checked Ryanoceros' comprehensive list, but found nothing.
  much appreciated,

Sorry keenmike.  If I was more tech savvy I would try to set up a Thursday night thing for both Macs & PCs.  Alas.

I'm trying to get folks together on Thursday nights on GameRanger to play on some of the lesser used maps (in addition to the tried-&-trues).  I've selected some options here but would be open to others.

You can download the maps and get brief descriptions/screenshots from Ryanoceros' excellent review page:

Eddie's Italia Multiplayer Version

http://www.SWBFgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=70

This is the multiplayer version of Eddie's Italia.  There are only two CPs and they can't be captured.

Could I interest anyone in Eddie's Italia Multiplayer tonight on Gameranger (8 PM, Pacific Time)?
It's an infantry-only map of a few blocks of a European-like city.  There are only two CPs and they can't be captured.   The map appears to have disappeared from filefront, but I've uploaded it here:

Hopefully it gets approved for downloading before tonight.  I've tested it with bots on Gameranger and it plays just fine, but I've been itching to play it with others.
     cheers,

Thanks all.
Btw, I should mention that though I am not a total noob, I still blow myself up from time to time.
And I'm interested in playing some of the less popular mods (e.g, Eddie's Italia, Eurpoa Tunnels).  I think I've tried just about every Mac-compatible map on filefront.
