NFO, the service provider that PLA/SWBFgamers.com uses, now hosts in Frankfurt.

They use top notch hardware and have great internet speeds (10 Gbps connections).  The are just a couple dollars more expensive than in the US.

It might be fun to get one for a month...  ;)

JS, why getting another root, which is more expensive, if there are already many euro severs and not enough players to have 1 full.. ?

G-Factory is one of the best euro hosts (www.g-factory.de). The best one is hetzner, u no need to host a server.
Its proved that www.Hetzner.de is simply the best.
However just do that, and show me the inet speed :)

This is the UEF Clan Root: http://www.hetzner.de/hosting/produkte_rootserver/ex40 (75€ / Month)
This is the the dedicated SWBF1 UEF Root is the Windows ''Power'' Root. (20€ / Month )

Edit: I have 70-80 ping in my servers (same as in DEAGLe's root) so yeah get it, now i am really curious to check this :) )

Edit 2: Ah btw, how comes im recently having 200 ping PLA Servers ? I recently joined 1 server and had 200 ping, when i --Always-- have 144-160

Edit 3: In euros vRoot the most speed u can get is 25 Upload/Download --> Like on my old vroot. Here u have an inet test ive just done:

If only we could find a UK server host it would be right in the middle for everyones pings, except the Australians and New Zealanders. It would also be perfect for me. :)

PLA has servers in more than one location by the way Anyder, it might not be the same CloudCity you joined.
I play less now but I'll always be around, lets keep this site and battlefront going. :)

We are not using the Atlanta server anymore--Bandit needs it for work.

For the last month, we have just been using Chicago.

For anyder, there is a lot of cable between you and Chicago.  Chicago has aslo been under DDOS attacks a lot recently...

As for speedtest results, if you host is good enough those results are meaningless--as the speed will be determined by the speedtest host site networking bandwidth, which should be far less than the good host.

Actually some of the older SWBFII servers that were hosted in Brazil were very good to me.
Kind of funny that the ones hosted in the US are normally laggy for me, when I live there anyways :P

200 vs 160 :  yes, this is probably why, but I can't say for sure.

other issue:  speed test is a computer program that has to be hosted somewhere.  You choose a speedtest site near to your physical location.  The speedtest commences from near your physical location and the server by sending packets.  Most speedtest locations do not have as good of computer bandwidth/speed as the best server host companies.  Therefore, in these cases the speedtest result is not testing the server but it is testing the speedtest site--and that is the limiting factor.
