What would you like to see in EA's new Battlefront?

Just like Spielberg and his backlights.
Although Spielberg was guilty of plenty of lens flare too. JJ is probably copying him what with being a great big Spielberg fanatic.

Er yeah... Games tend to copy the visual tropes of contemporary cinema, so we can expect unnecessary effects.

I am surely saw unnecessary 3D videogames effects in movies, but unnecessary movie effects in videogames ? How it's cud be anyway?
After all, who can resist to buy the game, if it will be so shiney? ;)
Beauty is, the way to perfection.

Glory to Ukraine!  :mf:

"Our sales charts show that if game cases are shiny we get more consumers so make the case shiny or you will be publicly blamed for online passes."

-EA executive

Shiny stuff sells.
I used to do arcade work, and that was the first thing my boss (and friend) taught me.

If the machine has bulbs, make sure they all work.
If it's mirrored, polish it.
If it isn't reflective and shiny, modify it so that it is. (we replaced so much t-molding on old cabinets. even waxed and polished the sides of the machines.)

Carnivals and casinos use the same idea.
It seems that sudden flashes of light and reflective surfaces makes people throw money away.

Then why are people so odd when it comes to paying a dollar in quarters? ::)

Well, since I've spent a lot of time in arcades, I've never seen anyone have problems giving up quarter after quarter.

I can testify to the beauty of the arcade.
During a holiday in the south of France instead of enjoying the local scenery me and a friend found a Metal Slug 3 machine and spent pretty much all of our time and money on it during the whole week.
Ahh good holiday...

Er yeah...
If EA doesn't support the modders because of their weirdo paranoia (Come on, Valve has already proved that you can fully support modders and make a profit)
I'd like to see some diverse character customisation... but keeping with the SW feel, it would be easy for them to get carried away.

It would be nice to see them cover all of the maps featured in our beloved original game.

Oh! Here's a thing that you've all forgotten:
ROLLING
It's critical.

Agreed 100%

And PRONE.
(I'll never understand why they killed prone for BF2.)

Can't have any sort of good sniping without prone.. I wonder if anyone has modded BF2 to where you can do that..
I think it's quite possible, especially since you can actually add animations in BFII.

I agree with modding support, Valve is a true example of what modding can open up for games. Black Mesa: Source is a good example of that.

As for the character customization, it should let you choose a selection of what you can put on your character. Have specific pieces only available for certain eras, etc. The kind of customization I'm thinking of is uniform, like how ARC Troopers have a different appearance than regular clones, that kind of loadout stuff (and possibly weapons too).

As for rolling, I don't know a modern day shooter that doesn't have rolling implemented in the game. :P

Because if you went prone in that game you would glitch in like all the maps. ;)

Battlefield 3/4 with a Star Wars skin.  :D

They've outright said they're not doing that.
In Progress:
--Star Wars: Battlefront - Anniversary Edition (formerly Star Wars: Battlefront - Legacy Edition)
--Endor: Imperial Base

On Hold:
--Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron For SWBF1

Sorry this is a late reply to your own reply phobos. Couter-Radar would disable the enemies team mini map.
