I played Civ V demo and I have to say...

It can wait. My graphics card for some reason is choking on it so I think I'll stay with CivIV until I have the time to devote to it.

Why no side by side release?

Considering that it is a native release and not a cheap Cider port, don't bother questioning the delay.

Also, mac games can take up to a year to be ported. That's what happened with Call of Duty 4.

I don't think civ5 is going to be steamplay. I just got an email saying aspyr is selling it

if you look near the middle you will notice Steam is required to play Civ5 

Civ5 will also be using Steam as the DRM which is a good thing
