Title: In need for help, please
Post by: golselect on January 18, 2017, 12:03:12 PM
I'm having some issues with my installed mods. I recently went back to play this game and download some of the newest mods, as well as the ones I played back then. The point is that whenever I try to change my settings, the game says "save failed" and the profiles ends corrupting, so when I restart the game I cant load my profile. Also, when I play some of the modded maps, all the texts seem to not appear, nor class names, nor weapons, and in the campaign mods none of the texts show up.
Please, help!

I'd totally recommend u to reinstall the game.
Then download the mods one by one, and check which one was that caused the mess...

I did as you said, and the profile failure stopped. But the error with the texts of some modded maps is still there. I thought to myself if the problem would be because of my version of the game (I have the spanish version), but other mods seem to work fine with english texts instead, so I don't know.

thus far (i would need to check some more of them) the mods that gave me that problem were:
- Clone wars era: http://www.moddb.com/mods/star-wars-clone-wars-era-mod (http://www.moddb.com/mods/star-wars-clone-wars-era-mod)
- Designated days (all of the packages): http://www.moddb.com/mods/designated-days (http://www.moddb.com/mods/designated-days)

Would it not be possible that the mod creators didn't localize for the spanish language?

then, what I'd ask is if there is a way to do that, or for the international version in english would be just fine

That would require the original author of the mod to edit it, since you can't convert a .lvl to something everybody can edit or you would need explicit permission from said author.

Try using this exe patch.
Then we'll know if the language is the issue -- http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=1384

it was just that. when I used the exe, and the game turned to english, the texts began to show up. just a question, was that patch the US version or the International (UK) version?

When i was looking for the 1.1 patch, they differentiated between a domestic patch for US version and an intermational patch for europe (which included united kingdom),

Well the only version I know of is this one - http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=1391

I have both, the spanish version and the english one (steam), and when I upgraded the spanish one I wasn't able to see what other options were available (other languages). And when I purchased the steam version it was already in 1.1, so I can't tell.

The patch I'm talking about is this one:
http://www.moddb.com/games/star-wars-battlefront-ii/downloads/battlefront-ii-patch-v11-intl-dvd (http://www.moddb.com/games/star-wars-battlefront-ii/downloads/battlefront-ii-patch-v11-intl-dvd)

Also, I've found another bug/glitch while reviewing all the mods. This bug consists on a Hud bug, because some elements of my hud, such as the primary weapon icon, are duplicated and out of their place.

ok, scratch that. I managed to solve that bug. It was due to the patch 1.3 being uninstalled while installing the conversion pack. It solved by reinstalling said patch.
Now what remains is the text not appearing bug.

Edit by Anyder: Try not to double-post please  :)

Sorry for double-posting again, and I promise I will stop with it, but I had to make sure. Is there a way to make a mod compatible with a certain version of the game? (the international/europe version in this case)
