Squashed screen when using the custom launcher?

I have a 1600x900 screen, and I set everything up accordingly for the custom launcher, and well it works, and although the HUD is fine, the actual game screen is very squashed.

I imagine there's no fix for it due to Battlefront being as old as it is?

I've waited a few months for a reply, so I guess nobody here has a clue?

Try a different wide screen resolution and see if it works.

Battlebelk stopped modding SWBF a long time ago.

You can also play SWBF in windowed mode.  I will edit this post when I find the instructions for it.

Make sure you get a 16:9 resolution from your vidmode.ini file.  Many of them will be 4:3

Your vidmode file may be located here:
C:\Users\yourusernamehere\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData\Data\_LVL_PC

For example:

1280 960 0 0 1

is a 4:3 format.  Check this by  1280/960 = 1.33

instead choose
1280 720 0 0 1

1280/720 = 1.66 = 16:9

edit:

the easiest way to use windowed mode if you use the custom resolution launcher is to edit this line:
[CMD]
COMMAND_LINE=/nointro /win

in the ini file.  Notice that /win has been added.

The initial screen will be 800 x 600, but it will get resized upon entering a map to be widescreen.
