Put PilotType = "self" in the ODF then in ZeroEditor, set the Team value of each instant to 1, 2, or 3.

Setting it to team 1 or 2 will cause it to attack the opposite, and team 3 will cause the turret to attack both teams.

You can only use official Microsoft hard drives. I had a 360 before and tried to stick several random hard drives in it, non worked.

R2-D2 is present (armed with a fusion cutter) but the probe droid ODF isn't present in the assets folder at all, though psych0fred did include it in his Chain Isle map. That's why, if you were to import the stock IMP side from the assets, munge it and then try to load Hoth: Echo Base, it crashes: the LUA calls for it even though it doesn't use it (perhaps left in by mistake). Many a modder has been caught out by Hoth when modifying the stock sides.

Lmao, I tried to munge new sides for BF1 on PS2 and they worked on every map except Hoth, thanks for confirming the problem.

I do believe the demo IMP.lvl includes the probe droid and I will see about pulling it into the next mod release I do for the official game version.

The thought's just occured to me that perhaps the stock LVL files contain ODFs for some of the missing content. IIRC, the stock Hoth LUA calls on imp_droid_probe, which is absolutely nowhere to be found in the mod tools but must exist in the stock LVL files for the map to load without crashing.

The Imperial probe droid already exist in the BFBuilder assets and should be fully working, (it roams around and shoots at rebels until it dies), but it's not in the game because something in the Hoth map isn't setup to make it spawn.

I think R2-D2 also exists and does the same thing, minus any weapons, it just roams around.

Released Maps and Mods / Battlefront PS2 With Demo Classes

Greetings everyone, here I am to announce the release of the first mod for Battlefront 1 on PS2.

This mod includes the following changes:
- Bothan Spy for Rebel Alliance on most Galactic Civil War era maps.
  This class includes some sort of blaster rifle, a disguise kit, and time bombs.

- Imperial Officer for the Empire on most Galactic Civil War era maps.
  This class includes a blaster pistol, orbital strike, and a health & ammo dispenser.

- All teams on all maps have equal 250 reinforcements.
- First person viewpoint removed, to help avoid memory limits.
- SWBFspy multiplayer patch + no DNAS patch.
- New classes are not added to historical missions, only instant action.

Maps where the new classes are NOT available:
- Hoth
- Cloud City
Reason: Memory limits.

- Bothan Spy blaster rifle has no sounds.
- Playing on Hoth may randomly crash and restart the game.
- Game will crash if you're playing online with unmodded players, due to mismatch content.
  Multiplayer works, but all players must be using the modded game together at the same time.

To play this mod, you need a hacked PS2 or a computer/phone strong enough to run the PCSX2 emulator. Your CPU should have a single thread rating of at least 2000 for good performance on BF1/BF2.

Future goals for this mod: More vehicles, more characters, new maps, and optimization of existing sides & maps, pull more content from the demo version.

Many Bothans died to bring us this mod, so we hope you enjoy it.

Sadly, the demo does not contain REP.LVL or CIS.LVL, it would be awesome if someone still had those files and coughed them up.

Update: I've prepared a mod for the official version that includes the officer and the spy.

You can buy a memory card with FMCB already installed for about $15, this includes several homebrew apps, some apps which allow the user to run games from a burned disc or the game ISO/ROM from a USB drive or a hard drive on the fat PS2. You can install FMBC yourself but it's a real hassle, you have to obtain all kinds of materials and follow numerous guides, this is why most people just buy a memory card that's already prepared.

Regarding the DNAS, issue, I cannot remember, I've been using the patched homebrew method (DNAS fully removed) for so long that I cannot remember how to deal with DNAS issues.

You should get a memory card with Free MCBoot installed (FMCB) then you can obtain and play a patched version of BF1 and BF2, through the USB port using a flash drive, that automatically finds the new game server and ignores the DNAS junk entirely.

Has anyone ever paid attention to the 2004 Battlefront rear cover?

All three covers depict a red clone with a blaster rifle and what might be a jetpack attached to him, or at least some sort of prop like the rebel soldier has.

I also don't recognize top left screen on the Xbox cover, this might just be the regular Dune Sea map with different terrain textures but I'm not familiar with Xbox version or the Dune Sea map enough to confirm that.

What do you mean by 'fully functioning Disguise Kit'? Is it something that works differently to the one we have in the mod tools?

I wrote that because I was never sure whether or not we already had one.

Based on my research, I've concluded that the game had 6 classes until around May 2004, which is when the Officer class was cut and its defining feature (Health and/or Ammo dispensers) were shifted to the Pilot class. Correlating with this theory is that the Bothan was never an Officer but rather a Special unit, given a few dev quotes and how the Wookiee actually contained that kit in promotional material. Does the Wookiee in this version still retain that kit?

I also find it interesting that the Pilot class is unavailable in this demo. Is that because you had to cut it out to insert the Officers or was that simply how the demo is made? Because I know for a fact that Pilots were developed in tandem with Officers.

The pilot is there, you just can't see it because the spawn menu can't display all the characters at once. The Wookiee has the weapons as it does in the retail version.
