Star Wars Battlefront II / SWBF2 Multiplayer Returns on Steam!
« on: October 02, 2017, 11:41:21 AM »
It seems that Disney has decided to restore multiplayer for SWBF2 on Steam:

On another note, the CD version obviously won't be supported by this...

Edit: It also appears the game has been renamed on Steam as: 'Star Wars: Battlefront 2 (Classic, 2005)'

Public Square / Not Seeing Unread Posts
« on: September 24, 2017, 02:09:46 PM »
I know this section is about website suggestions, but I wasn't sure where else to put this...

I used to, when I would log in to SWBFGamers, always check the 'Show unread posts since last visit'. (the little link in the upper right hand corner of the website) But lately when I've been checking the site, nothing has been appearing there. I'm not entirely sure when this started, as I was not very active on the website over the summer, but now that I am checking it more frequently, it is definitely a bit of a pain.

I know that there are unread posts, because I can see some of them on the sidebar of the website. (But only up to five.) So my questions are, am I missing something? Or did something change there? Do I need to fix something, or am I forgetting how it is suppose to work?

Anyways... any help with this would be appreciated.

Other Games / Star Wars Battlefront III Fan Remake Heading to Steam
« on: June 05, 2016, 08:22:10 PM »
The Star Wars Battlefront III fan remake: "Galaxy in Turmoil" is heading to Steam! I had never heard of this particular remake before, but this article caught my eye. It kind of shocks me that Steam would even agree to do this, I mean the legality of this is questionable at best. At any rate though, it sounds like a neat idea.

For those of you who won't bother to read the article, I just want to point out that it is not available now and there is no indication of when it will become available.

Here is the link to the article:

And here is the link to the original announcement:

Any thoughts on the subject anyone?

Other Games / Best Racing Game?
« on: August 27, 2015, 09:14:41 AM »
Hey guys, I'm looking for a racing game to run on my new computer. I have been looking around at the different modern racing games, but I don't really know that much about them. I want to buy a really beautiful street racing game, with an awesome environment and cars, and lots of content. So I'm here to ask, in your opinion what are some of the best PC racing games?

General / Import Your Xfire Hours to EvolveHQ
« on: June 12, 2015, 04:06:32 PM »
EvolveHQ is allowing you to import your Xfire hours to their client, there is no guarantee this will work. It seems like a neat idea, I know Phobos mention Raptr doing something like this too:

Edit: I see this has already been discussed, but incase you missed it, or was wondering how to go about it.

Tech Support / Mod Tools Error
« on: December 08, 2014, 11:28:02 AM »
I downloaded the Mod tools from this site, the ones that Led already updated. Everything seemed to work fine, I ran the registry fix. But when I tried to create a world, I received an error. (Screenshot attached.) I am running windows 8.1. Is there a solution for this?

General / Happy Thanksgiving!
« on: November 27, 2014, 09:14:06 AM »
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Don't eat to much. :P

As the title says DICE plans to not create a third person view except when your in vehicles.

If you ask me that really stinks. :(

What do you think? Will the game be as fun without a third person view?

Tech Support / Sorry for any issues.
« on: July 21, 2014, 08:32:30 AM »
If this is the wrong place for this post please let me know, and move it.
I have been having issues with Xfire recently, but I don't want to mess with it at the moment. I am afraid that I may be missing friend requests on Xfire, if I do not accept your request please let me know! I have not yet knowingly rejected a request. I will be working on a fix soon, but I realize that issues of reguest errors may have already occurred. Thanks

And if you are wondering why I think I may be missing request this is the reason, sometimes my Xfire crashes on start up, if there was a request then I missed it as it will not return the next time a start it. Also this is not a request for tech support, thank you.

Tech Support / Unable to use the auto-installer!

I was try to help Cat9 install the new exe (or is it EXE?) for his game with the auto-installer and he said this error message occurred:

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging

For example:

< jitDebugging="true" />

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
I think I got the whole thing, any ideas on a fix for this? Any help would be appreciated.

Star Wars Battlefront / SWBF a dying community? I think not!
« on: July 14, 2014, 08:15:14 AM »
This is a personal testimony, that this community is not dead or dying, but alive and thriving.

While I appreciate any thoughts or comments, this post is mainly for the benefit of guests, and new members.

If you think that this community is dead or dying you are wrong. This community is very much alive and is continuing to do many things. A great example of that is the upcoming ICW4,(Intergalactic Clan War) a hugh event between many clans in a galactic struggle. Each clan is assigned planets to defend and every week they can attack other clans planets and attempt to take them. Another great example is modding, there are still many modders producing excellent works of art, including unit skins and maps for this community, the modders include people like: Sereja, Epifire, Snake, MileHighGuy and many others (So many I could take a long time to name them.) But you may say, well this is all fine and dandy, but by this point they are an insiders group, new members are probably hard to find, and would be frowned on anyway. If you are thinking this you are wrong, really wrong. I am still a very new member and already feel like a part of this great community, new members are always very kindly welcomed. What about in-game? There are still many people active in-game, and we are using a new method to play online called, GameMaster, which revives the internet option. (Read about how to get it here: [Link]) There are also many thriving clans still active. On a regular day you will find a server with several players in it, and many clan tags are to be seen, including: {PLA},BOB, ~PFA~,[FC],{GRC},{Alpha},{TcF},{U.E.F} and a few others. If you are considering joining this community I would strongly encourage it, we are far from gone, we are still strong. We are always nice, and we would love to have you.

General / A Small Idea
« on: July 10, 2014, 01:01:10 PM »
Here is a small idea of mine that may be able to help in a big way: what if this community had a server on SWBF2 that encouraged the players to visit this site, and play SWBF1 again? We could call it " [something]" As anyone who plays SWBF2 knows the server manager allows you to leave messages promoting web sites.(as well as the rules) What do you guys think of this idea, and is anyone willng to host the server?

General / Question about NFO hosting.
« on: July 09, 2014, 09:02:09 AM »
Does anyone know how many servers can be run at the same time by the basic NFO package? The Linux only one, also can you run both SWBF1 and 2 servers at the same time? Not knowing how they work I really don't know, but if it is like a regular PC you could only run SWBF 1 or only SWBF 2 not both. Thanks in Advance!

« on: June 10, 2014, 10:05:29 PM »
Could someone recommend some good mod maps to try? There are so many I do not know where to start...
