So, does Direct Connection send you directly to the destination IP, without having to go through GameMaster and whatever?

And, could a dedicated server be run and only be connected to through DC?

I haven't used DC in awhile, so I don't know the answer to either of them...

Direct Connection sent you to the destination IP, but there was a hitch:  Gamespy had it's mark on DC.  So the Direct Connection button quit working when Gamespy shut down.  There seems to not really be a way to use Direct Connection effectively with GameMaster.

I don't think this will be successful on our end.  I think the gamemaster people can implement this.  After all, it worked with Openspy, so there must be a way for them to implement it.

I would like it if they did, as then macs can play with us too.
Actually, I would like a modification so that they can DC to regular servers.

Well, if OpenSpy worked DC, then that could be a temporary fix for a problem I have, which is why I brought up the question.

Well, I asked for an update regarding with what Kalle previously told Anyder on the GameShare site... Because I'm darn curious for an answer. @.@

EDIT: OpenSpy seems to be working, and at my school too, which is nice because the school has blocked the GameMaster connection, but not OpenSpy. I have a DTC match I need to make, and my school hours are best atm, so maybe I can get my opponent to use OpenSpy with me...

Ultimo, you forgot something. Kalle specifically said, you must be using the updated exe, which is not available at this site. You will need to go to the GameMaster site and get the updated exe.

Another question occurs to me though, I use the Hosts mod normally. I would assume that works and I don't have to update the .exe?

It just is important to make that as clear as possible to everyone, I didn't know they periodically updated their exe files at first. And I don't think there is an updated exe here.
