If anyone wants a change from the usual games this year pony island is only £1.31/about $2 on steam. I can't say much about it without giving away spoilers but it's a very unique puzzle /platform game.

Only downside is it might cause an awkward steam conversation.

It's been a while since I saw a random general thread here so I thought I would fix that. What do you think is the best film, game, car etc ever made. Try and put some random categories in to make this interesting.

The private matches should at least allow some tournaments to happen and get togethers for clans should be easier depending how it works.

Since it's been confirmed that there will be no server browser (which is my biggest problem with the game) I was wondering what clans were planning to do in the new game? And I'm assuming that tournaments are a no go....

Does anyone know if when you join a group you can all join the same server regardless of level? At least that way clans can still exist.

The battle of Hoth: 3ABY*
It's another cold day on Hoth, the wind howls through the corridors of Echo base and the snow has become so bad that even the Tauntauns won't venture out but for the struggling rebellion the day is only getting worse...

Chapter 1
Following the sighting of Imperial troops the 5 elite soldiers of twilight company begin deployment on the battlefield. Their target is an antenna or uplink of some sort that they must activate . As one the squad jumps from the dropship towards the target, with years of training for missions like these they all land within mere kilometeres of each other and begin running blindly around in the general direction of the target.

The first to arrive is combat veteran Vash. "Nice looking rocks here", he remarks on the squads radio. "Don't get distracted" came the reply. Unfortunately it was too late, while Vash ran around looking at his footprints in the snow an Imperial armed with a pistol shot him in the back from across the battlefield. Vash's cloth armour provided little protection and he died from a single hit.

The remainder of the squad met up by the relay thing. Their heavy weapons specialist, Tromp Grooble took watch with his small pistol while the other 3 worked out how to activate the relay. Eventually they realised it was a single button, a poor design given that the Imperials could deactivate it the same way.

The squad stood in a line facing the oncoming Imperial forces to guard the relay thing, at the sight of an AT-AT in the distance they blindly opened fire, glad of unlimited ammunition and the bags  full of grenades they carried with them.  Try as they might, however, their shots barely scratched the AT-AT. Luckily just as it got within firing range it randomly veered off to the left to follow a different path. The squad breathed a sigh of relief.

"That was too close", Grooble started to stay before suddenly a lone stormtrooper appeared behind him and shot him with a pistol. Grooble tried to dive sideways but his legs wouldn't let him, desperately he tried to roll into a nearby trench but that to failed for some reason, instead he crouched down and hoped for the best. He died.
Twilight company was now down to 3 men; Jens, Ulrich and Hantonar. They opened fire on the stormtrooper to avenge their fallen friend but just as Jens fired the final shot the stormtrooper was killed by a stray shot from a pistol on the other side of the battlefield. Unfortunately In all the firing they had failed to notice that Ulrich had been mortally wounded, he lay there, every part of his body in agony. A red cloud filled his vision and knew there was no way he could survive this. Then, miraculously he got better.

Now fed up of running around and dying through chance the three of them went to take the fight to the imperials. After a brief run and Ulrich, their sniper, defeating Darth Vader with his pistol rifle they arrived at the hangar to get in a snow speeder. Hantonar, their tech specialist, tried to get into the ship but for some reason he couldn't. He tried everything from jumping on it, crawling under it and shooting at it with his tech pistol but nothing worked. "Unless there's a portal into on the other side of the battle, I can't see us getting in", said Ulrich sarcastically.

Just as they were about to give up hope of surviving this nightmare of a battle a passing Rebel soldier called them into a transport ship and they were evacuated with the other rebels. Although at first they didn't want to leave the battle they knew that they could fight this battle another 10 times and still have no chance of winning so chose to take the transport and live to fight another day.

If you want to get all the DLC for Battlefront it will cost £40 or $50 (US). It's supposedly 4 packs worth and if you get the pass rather than buying them separately you can play them early.

Personally I'll be waiting to see what the main game is like but I hope you get a decent amount of DLC for what is basically the price of the game again.

I was searching through old files on my PC today and found a load of cartoons I made when I was younger. They haven't aged well and weren't very good in the first place but I've put them on Youtube for a laugh. Enjoy.

Dice have just announced a new game mode. It looks like standard online but focused on short small battles with 10 players on each team. It could be good for competitive play.

If you want to use Steam to chat and take screenshots in game here is how;
1. Open your Steam library
2. Click on add a game in the bottom left corner then select 'add a non steam game'
3. On the list that appears find battlefront-shortcut* and tick it. Click on 'add selected programs'.
4. Battlefront will now appear on the games list to the left
5. To use the Steam overlay in game you MUST launch battlefront from the Steam library menu not any other shortcut.
6. Hold down Alt and Tab to open Steam in game or use F12 to take a screenshot in game and it will appear in the battlefront section of your library.
7. If you want an FPS counter in game (this will apply to all Steam games) go to; Steam - settings - In game - then turn on the counter there.

Issues:
I assume /noframelock works as it uses the same shortcut to launch but am unsure
F12 for screenshots will also call for health and opening steam puts up the player list as well, you will have to remap controls to avoid this.

*I don't know if this works without a desktop shortcut

I'm adding this separate from the other maps listed above because this needs extra explanation.
***WARNING***: These folders are all named exactly the same as other maps listed in the above list. However, when you play any of these mission maps you will end up on RLcT: Cloud City, "RCC". The only difference between these and RCC is that you get the weapons selection from those original maps for use on RCC. Obviously, it is extremely confusing to use the exact same file name. So I suggest, if you do choose to download these, you do as I did and rename these files immediately after downloading them. Otherwise you may end up accidentally deleting old maps, one day, thinking you have an extra copy. So, for example, add "_RCC" to the end of each file name. ergo, "Rogue1" would be renamed "Rogue1_RCC", "heroassault" would be renamed "heroassault_RCC", etc. This way you will never get these RCC mission maps mixed up with the original maps from which these mission maps all get their sides mods. Ok? ... Don't say I didn't warn you! [/spoiler]

There's probably a few other maps missing that aren't in Ryanocerous' list but this should be most of them. I've tried to check that none of the maps in this list are here but it's possible that they're under other names or their addon name like a few are I found were. Good luck to everyone uploading.

Apparently a Wii compilation of the Rogue squadron games was ready for release but never came out. I didn't have a Wii so it doesn't matter so much to me but it's a shame to add to the list of games cancelled around that time, they all looked really good.

My top 5 would be;
Scrubs - Hospital based comedy/drama. I think this is one of the best tv series ever made.
Not going out - British sitcom which is basically solid jokes
The fresh prince of Bel air - Who doesn't like that?
Father Ted - Sitcom about 3 Irish priests
Big bang theory - Not the funniest every episode but I still like it.

Others; Malcolm in the middle, Allo Allo, Brooklyn 99 and a load of others I'm probably forgetting.

Starting now we are trying to give everyone who wants to play battlefront the chance to have some big games at least once a month. If you want to play in battles with lots of players then join the SWBFdays servers on the last Saturday of each month starting November 30th.
We'll have servers running for the US and Europe all day and aim to fill them. If everyone keeps playing on these days we'll always be able to guarantee some good games. Hope you enjoy them.
