An obvious idea and unfortunately the first one I tried :(

Any more comprehensive ideas?

Hi!

I reinstalled SWBF today (I'm on a mac 10.5.8 using a mac copy of SWBF) and I can play the game no problem single player but when I try to host a game on Gameranger I get a "bad cd key" prompt and cannot play.

This is an old issue that the creator of gameranger fixed but clearly I'm having issues again and don't know how to fix it. Can anyone offer some solid advice? Following Kit Fisto's video seems unnecessary since I have a Mac disk.

randomly checked my old hotmail account tonight and got your email buckler!

I last gave my SWBF to my cousin, I'll see if he has it still. Regardless, I'll definitely jump on gameranger to say hi to everyone. Hope everyone is doing well!

Scores:

Mr. Buffalo Wings is in first with a score of 53.
A-99 is in second with a score of 34.5.
Led and Jamman are tied for third with a score of 34.

The rest, in order of placing:
Circa
Jedikiller
Droidy
Schtick
Snippers
Unit 33
Falcon
Epifire
Unit 333
Unit 3
Stonewall

This tournament has put me off of hosting future ones, to be honest. The community outside of MPC regulars these days is getting worse by the second.

3 people complaining represents everyone outside of MPC? Gotcha.

Was good stuff for the most parts JK, I always enjoy the PC Mac cross over.

Goodluck to macs... but if buckler gets some real PCs in the game it won't be a contest.

Awesome map Breakdown. We had some games over 7vs7 and 8vs8 for a while last night on GR on this map! Extremely well balanced, especially since the non-jet teams have an easily defendable home cp. Rifle and sniper battles are awesome and theres lots of room for rockets and pilots too! 10/10

A one day fight to see who is the overall champ of SWBF units.

Alright, so the objective of this tournament is purely to see who can fight best with each unit and combine the scores to see who is the overall best.- people will get some special points in this tournament but i will post the scoring tomorrow. The tournament will be played in 5 maps, for the 5 units, each map everyone that plays uses the troop for that map, listing in the line of Rifle troopers, Heavy troopers, Pilots, Snipers, and Special (GCW only for balance).

Naboo: Airfield (nabair1) - Rifle Trooper - This is pending if BD chooses to release the final version before this tournament.
Death Star: Interior (dea1) - Rocket Trooper
Tatooine: Jabba (tat3) - Pilot Trooper
Maze (maz1)  - Sniper Trooper
Taking suggestions for Special Trooper map- GCW ONLY.

Ill update tomorrow with a for sure map list and arrangements for a host please post if you are willing to host. (the maps will be based on the best map for that unit)

So thoughts on this insane idea? i'm looking for a 30 player epic rifle trooper battle :)

Don't seee a list going on, but I'll join (thanks Destructor ;))

I realize other people made some suggestions but I'll add my own.

Rifle Trooper - Naboo Airfield is a good choice, little lag. Mos Eisely and Citadel are other good close combat maps.

Rocket Trooper - Dea1 is a good choice

Pilot Trooper - Ehhh its really hard to subjugate the pilot (except for perhaps Zappy) as they are versatile to any environment. The most important weapon on the pilot is the pistol, and only the best pilots (or anyone using any unit with a pistol) can survive while having to reload or not. I would suggest Da1. Gives ample room for all pilots to pose a threat. In Jabba, you would simply see zappys possibly having the upper hand 90% of the time.

Sniper Trooper - Da1. Maze1 may be good for close combat sniping. But da1 will always be the king map for long distance sniping, and if people are truly good, they will get in close to confuse and keep their opponent guessing. Naboo Airfield is another great choice for this.

Special (GCW) - Hard to say. Any good dark troopers (not many around....) will be able to use almost any situation to their advantage against the slow wookie, unless its in an enclosed space which might be "unfair" to the jets. CC Courtyard could be a good option.

While I would like to participate in this tournament, everyone here should realize that out sniping or rifling, another sniper or rifler does not make the you best rifler. It makes you the best rifler vrs another rifler. The BEST RIFLER would be one who could use the unit and win against all other opposing units. But that would be extremely hard to regulate.

Other Games / Re: Multiwinia and Defcon

Hahah yea! Ambrosia is so underrated.

Escape Velocity Override was one of the best games I've ever played. I also highly recommend Escape Velocity Nova for anyone who likes a good RPG. EVO was amazing but can't be played on OS X unfortunately, but Nova is a relatively new game (2 years old maybe) and is OS X native.

Other Games / Multiwinia and Defcon
March 28, 2009, 08:07:42 PM
Hey all. I just downloaded the trials of Multiwinia and Defcon. Two games made by Ambrosia Software.

Links found here:

http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/multiwinia/

http://www.ambrosiasw.com/games/defcon/

Both of these games are real time strategy games. I think Multiwinia is a pretty sweet game so far, and Defcon has a really cool concept but takes some getting used to. Does anyone here play these games and have any insights?

Woah nice work Ryan. This is a really good idea that should have been implementing a long time ago.

hey guys, I'm gonna come back and playa few games here and there. However, I cannot even open my SWBF game in single player as the game "is not supported on this architecture". I downloaded teh 1.2 Rev A patch, but it won't install, it stops almost right as the installation process begins. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
