Tech Support / Re: DualShock2 question

Turning on a vibration feature on a controller won't shorten the life of it, they are designed to handle anything thats built with it.....if your talking about a 3rd party add on tho, or it vibrating when it should not that could shorten the life.

Elite Members is something we used to give out to members who contributed alot to the community, often people who won "Member of the Month" or as Unit pointed out Ryan by his review post.

Generally speaking, this site has gone through many reincarnations as we've transferred host, domains, and owners multiple times. So even tho people joined days before or days after eachother the community had been around before this site so it was just a matter of activity. Led at the time was not an active poster in most parts of the forum and just stayed around the SWBF forums and DC post :)
In many ways i'm sure his post count went from an average poster to that of one of the top posting users simply from the time he took over the site and went to work keeping it active and running smoothly.

SWBF1 Modding / Re: SplitScreen?
November 18, 2012, 02:23:33 AM
I remember long ago seeing screenshots of someone getting split screen into the PC version....but he only had one set of controls working, the other screen would just be sitting in unit selection or what not. so basically he was playing with half a screen :-/

Well, it was only ever released on the PC side but it did unlock a number of fun things, the freecamera (tho it can be added in to 1.2 by other means) and being able to put 512 mods in the list is great....i only ever play SP sometimes when i'm bored from time to time and it still seems worth installing to me.

QuoteReminder this is a BETA version for Battlefront and may not work on all systems and is for the U.S. version of the game only. Version 1.2 must be installed first in order for this version to be properly installed
This update addresses the following:
CHANGES FROM 1.2
Multiplayer

Unlocked frame rate
Better tolerance of latency spikes and frame rate spikes
Fixed an end of game hang
Better smoothing of predicted positions and orientations
Allow more maps specified from dedicated server command line
Better Droideka prediction
Added remote admin support for those hosting dedicated servers
Tighter clock synchronization under normal conditions
Fixed joining servers behind most firewalls
Allow more mod maps (was 50, now 512)
Global
Fixed CIS Pilot shooting backwards

NOTE: Users hosting Star Wars Battlefront PC Dedicated Servers will need to download and install the updated version of the PC Dedicated server software for compatibility with the 1.3 version update.

Basically it was mainly fixing alot of the problems the game has....the droideka seeming to "jolt" as much while rolling i'd expect, the mod map limit....just smoothing out the kinks the game still had.

Well, mainly because SWBF2 got less updates in some ways and because it came with more maps. it started out with 30? i'm pretty sure counting all the land, space, and faction story maps.

SWBF2 always felt like they "finished" it (only offical update was a 1.1 fixing a few live bugs) Where SWBF1 always felt like so many things were left on unfinished....like the not fully released/finished 1.3 update for SWBF1

And they did release some DLC for it, the original SWBF1 maps were released as a mappack on xbox if i recall right.
Edit: looking it up to see if i was right in remembering, it seems they also added in 3 hero players with that map pack too.

They added Jabba with 1.2, likely it was just a map that they had been working on and it didn't quite make the cut for the final build, but it was so close it was worth fixing whatever problem it had (its a very complex map in terms of animations, doors, act) A number of maps were never finished i'm sure. And jabba was just a bloody awesome map to add into the game so why not add it?

General / Re: PS3 v Xbox 360
November 14, 2012, 05:31:16 AM
People make online intense, the game itself is the same despite what console its on. You'll find good players on both consoles, great players too and bad. The 360 is more common and you'll find largely more populated games on the xbox.

At this point both the consoles are basically the same in graphical power...both limited by memory....the xbox is slightly ahead in this but the ps3 has better hardware so it counters it.

In the end its all about the games you want to play, and what controller you like best it doesn't matter how good a game is on the ps3 if you hate the controller, or how good a the 360 looks if you don't like the games.
Both have ups and downs, its just about choosing what looks the best to you.

If as Sleepkiller pointed out your password and username is not set as admin/admin and you don't have the ability to get it.
You won't be able to portfoward, your ipod has no way to bypass it.

If your using an airport as i suspect apple gives us this nice application (Applications>Utilities>Airport Utility) Launch it, select your wireless router as it will detect any in range, and login if you have the password.

well, first you need to explain what that is a screenshot of.

and answer a couple questions, do you have a router, what kind is it, and do you have the admin rights too it.
