I'd recommend purchasing SWBFI on GOG.com. Then download GOG Galaxy and you can revert the game version and download the 1.2 version then install to the port like usual.

Thanks for the assistance Led.
After further research I was able to find how to revert the game version within the GOG Galaxy client itself. I guess they changed how to do it since I last did this. For those who stumble upon this thread here's the step by step directions.

I might be missing something but the topic linked is for SWBFII, I'm talking about SWBFI. Unless there is a similar patch for the first game? I tried using this installer but it still didn't work...

Hi all,

My computer recently died with all data irretrievable. I got a new computer and redownloaded the GOG version of SWBFI but it appears the offline backup is now their "patched" 1.3 version and not the classic 1.2 version of the game. I'm not interested in playing their version where most of my favorite mod maps don't work. How can I go about reverting my version of the game to 1.2?
Thanks!

Hey everyone, some of you might remember way back I made gameplay videos of SWBF1 and 2 for a while. After years of wanting to do that again and noticing quite the content desert when it comes to the original games on YouTube these days, I've finally started the channel back up! If you are in the mood for some old school YouTube SWBF gaming, come check it out! If there's anything you'd like to see me play or do in the original games, I'm happy to oblige! :)

Wow, totally thought I replied on this thread back when it was first posted...
Anyways Sereja, been thinking about you a lot since all of this started earlier in the year. Ditto to Giftheck, hope you and your loved ones are doing ok and still safe.

Merry Christmas! The season of Christmas always brings back memories of school break and spending hours playing Battlefront and all its various mods. Hope everyone here has a Happy New Year as well!  :xmastim:

Released Maps and Mods / Re: Hoth: Battle Of Echo Base

Finally got around to trying this map, and it's a great large scale Hoth map!
Love the expanded Echo Base and the inclusion of the Wampas and their cave.
The modified sides are also well done.
Definitely staying in my AddOn folder!

Hey all,

I recently got my hands on a PC laptop and downloaded SWBFI from GOG, however the game version is 1.3 (yuck) and breaks many of my favorite mod maps.
Is there a download on this site that can revert my game back to ol reliable 1.2?
I see various downloads for SWBFSpy, is this the same tool to revert to 1.2?
Don't really care about playing online, just want to have the stable version of the game again.
Appreciate the help!

Edit
Disregard, after fiddling around more in GOG Galaxy I found how to revert.
For future people with the same question you go to the setting tab/manage installation/configure, then choose the game version you want to play on (see attached screenshot).

Now I can play those precious Sereja maps again.

Released Assets / Re: SWBF1 Xbox to PC beta map pack

Thank you so much for converting all of these! I have always wanted to play the early beta maps of SWBFI.

I think my personal favorite has to be Theed. It's so different from the final and much more dynamic in how you can get around as infantry. And it really feels like a city (compared to the stock map).
Geonosis and Kamino are also runner ups just cause I'm a sucker for Attack of the Clones inspired maps lol.

This map is very cool! I love all the little additions you made like the U-Wing and the AT-AT. The music is a great touch as well!

Happy birthday to my all time favorite game!
I still boot it up from time to time even now. No play through is ever the same and that's what makes me love it! And also this amazing community!

Interestingly I think the graphics and gameplay have aged very well compared to other games released around then.
I was just thinking that the other day. We got real lucky with SWBFI and II in that they have aged very well and still hold up. And personally I still think they're more fun than the new EA Battlefronts for a myriad of reasons.
