Lord_Bandu began this map a really long time ago. It would have used the same sides as his Jedi Temple Training Hall map, but he never got further than the hangar and the corridors in the video, and he no longer has that project. Alas, it seemed as if we'd never get a map like this - the SWBF2 interior is seriously lacking and not exactly the best thing to make a fully-fledged Invisible Hand map with.

Well, a while ago, I did Star Wars 2015Front II, a mod for Star Wars Battlefront II which was inspired by the 2015 game. I included Space: Mustafar's campaign in the mod, and as part of that, I redressed the hangar. I kind of wanted to give my own version of the map a try someday.

Today is that day. I have already begun working on it. At present, I'm about as far as Bandu was. Here's a couple of in-progress screens.

First up, the Republic sides:

The overall plan is to have the map contain a few key areas seen in the film: so, the bridge, port and starboard cannon rooms, and the elevator area (no observation deck), as well as a couple of rooms inspired by DICE's take on the Providence-class Cruiser.

The sides are all custom. I recently laid my gleeful hands on a copy of Softimage 2015, so I've been able to fix a few errors with my past models and clean them up a bit.

Here's some more progress. I now have one of the CPs sorted out - the Elevator Lobby. Though I have resized it from this screenshot because ingame it definitely seemed far too small. I've also re-tiled the floor.

I've always wanted an Invisible Hand map since I saw the original project being abandoned many years ago. Great job! Will there be a bridge area??

No, since there would be no way to adequately implement it. There will be the elevator lobby, the hangar, an assemly area, a reactor room (which is technically inspired by the observation tower room Obi-Wan and Anakin fight Dooku in), a cannon room, and the bridge. 7CPs planned.

Have some actual gameplay and an exploration vid. At the point this video was made, I had yet to start on the location of the final command post (the flak cannon turret room). I'm working on modelling that now. Then a few texture bits to finish and then it's ready for beta.
