Stock Unit UV Maps

https://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=1655

A useful reference material for those who are interested in retexturing models and aren't savvy with 3D tools.

There may be some triangles out of place, but these maps are good enough for reference.

Upon trying to play Giftheck's new map 'Dune Sea Exchange' I was presented with a fatal error which read 'Could not open mission.lvl'.

I have not encountered this kinda error before, is this a known issue with the Steam version of SWBF?

QuoteThese models were originally kitbashed by tirpider in 2012.

It took me (Unit 33) eight years to get around to producing some satisfactory skins due to forgetfulness.

SWBF1 has a significant lack of female models that may be utilised for different factions or units. My original request to tirpider was essentially an attempt to address this issue.

This model and skin pack includes four variations of a Rebel Marksman without a helmet.

The kitbash is a combination of the SWBF1 and SWBF2 snipers with Luke's SWBF2 hair sat on top. Two skins are included, being a pilot and an improved marksman.

General / Nostalgia Trip
February 13, 2019, 11:58:59 AM
Having recommended Michaeluj have a look at the old Filefront on the Wayback Machine, I had a look out of curiosity; and I really forgot how big that place was.

The frequent polls were something I had really forgotten about, and the proto-reddit comment sections on everything were always a fun mess.

You can navigate through different dates of course, its quite amusing.

General / Carrie Fisher has passed away.

Sad news today that Carrie Fisher has passed away...

Quote"It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning," reads the statement. "She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers."

Hey folks,

I'm going to be fiddling about with the general look of the site, so you may notice some small and some large changes to thing's you're probably used to.

You may not notice any changes at all unless your clear your cache/cookies.

Now before you get your flaming touches and pitchforks out, I will not be changing anything to do with the layout or the function of the forum, I'm just messing with the look of various menu bars etc.

If you have any feedback, feel free to post about it in this thread.

Some ideas I've had is having just two simple themes to the site: a 'light theme' and a 'dark theme' rather than a bunch of redundant themes that are often broken.

I understand a lot of the site hasn't changed in about 8 years, so I understand if you do opt for the flaming torches and pitchforks.

Looks fun. Sounds like they managed to get Billy Dee Williams to voice Lando, which I guess isn't too surprising considering he recently appeared in SW:Rebels.
I'm pretty sure that's Simon Pegg as Dengar, who voiced him in SW:Clone Wars.

Otherwise... Cloud City looks gooood.

Other Games / Overwatch

It's pretty good.

I'm playing on PS4, because I am a heretic.
It reminds me a lot of Team Fortress 2, although rather than nine distinctive characters there's over 21.

It's interesting that despite having such a large cast, each character is still very distinctive and unique in terms of weapons/gimmicks and roles within the team.

The game is certainly geared toward competitive MOBA-like action, which is the only thing that's put me off a little, since I've never been interesting in taking games that seriously... what with precise team coordination, communication and correct class selection. I just want to shoot.

It's very good. If anyone's in high-octane-objective-focussed-shooters, you should try it out (when it's on sale).
