is there a limit to how many maps you can add to the base game ?

is there a limit to how many maps i can add as stock maps not trough addon system ? and also if i make a dlc pack with 10 maps and a single mission lvl that has munged 10 mission luas does it still count as 10 missions ? or just 1 mission ?

256 or 512 if I remember correctly.

You must have an instance of AddDownloadableContent for each mission.lua file, or the game will not be able to find it (even though you can still add it to the missionlist).  Each instance of AddDownloadableContent counts towards the 50 map rule.

thought so but wasnt sure. so the limit to adding to the base is much higher for the 1.2 version at least.
