General / Re: What is your favorite Car Company?
May 04, 2017, 05:48:11 AM
I went with all Japanese brands and Hyundai.

My parents have Toyotas, and they all run fine (one of which is over a decade old). Nissan because of their awesome 90's cars and the GT-R. Honda for similar reasoning, and because VTEC. Mitsubishi is having a midlife crisis now methinks (since all their cars are CVT only, and 90% of them are crossovers over here), but their Lancer Evos will live on in memory.

Hyundai simply because I love what they're been up to in recent years. And I still want to own a Veloster Turbo or a Genesis (coupe or sedan, doesn't matter).

Also, (car fanatic alert), who be excited of Kia's Stinger GT liftback sedan with a 3.3L twin-turbo V6 with 365HP?

Interesting trailer. I personally am looking forward to the Clone Wars era (hoping some TCW characters show up). Glad to hear the class-based system will make a return. I barely logged an hour onto the first one even if I bought it a few months ago.

In any case, still looking forward to it, and still sucks I can't preorder the deluxe edition for PC. :(

I'd really like them to surprise everyone with a gripping campaign following a group of rebels with a great story. I'd like to see the life of a regular rebel and how hard it is to scrounge supplies, steal weapons and vehicles, and use guerrilla tactics against the Empire. Maybe throw in a good emotional setup with a scene of the main characters family getting massacred by the Empire.

You'd have better luck with Infinity Ward/Activision producing that story than EA/DICE. They've never struck me as the type do good narrative stories.

Personally, I would love ground-to-space combat. They undoubtedly have the potential to push Frostbite to this level, though I guess the issue would lie in needing hi-spec hardware to run it well perhaps. Consoles may/may not be able to handle that quite yet.

Another addition I'd like would be as everyone else says, Clone Wars era. Seriously want to have a solid battle with clones and droids. Not that I don't enjoy GCW, but it'd be nice to shoot at droids for once instead of another stormtrooper/rebel.

i agree with you as well

[USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST]

though i probably still wont buy it, mostly because i dont expect my flimsy 2GB of vram to run it.
SPECS:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700 3.0GHz Octo-core Processor
GPU: MSI Gaming X AMD Radeon RX 480 with 4GB VRAM
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 2800MHz

I think I got the chops to run it. :)

(Built my new PC recently btw. :P)

Forum News and Forum Rules / Re: Community Discord

Already joined. :P

I've been using Discord for a long while now, so to have the SWBF Community using it too will possibly mean I'll be able to talk to you guys more frequently. (I use Discord for a few communities already, so this will just make it more efficient for me to talk to you guys, as I use my phone more heavily now than my laptop.)

Other Games / Re: Sim Racing

I know, big necro post, but I feel the need to contribute to this post.

Over the past few months I've acquired a Logitech G29 wheel, the separate shifter, a PS4, and a WheelStandPro (which I heavily recommend getting if you can't afford a full-on sim setup).

I've played Project Cars, which has great graphics and a decent handling model for wheel setups out of the box I find. Assetto Corsa also has a great handling model for wheels, but I miss the lacking weather options like Project Cars has. I personally think the simcade game Driveclub has the best graphics hands down. Unfortunately though I find the handling is way too arcadey for a wheel to use.

I've tried GTR2 on PC, and while I admit it's got a good handling model, I just hate how analog it all is to setup your wheel properly as well as fine tune adjustments for the car. Plus, the graphics really show their age in the game.

I'm curious of the F1 games, but I've always heard some bad stuff about their games (and I'm not in the mood to buy the new one with all it's DLC perks).

Other Games / We got any PS4 players around here?
February 27, 2017, 04:37:39 AM
Hey guys, long time no talk. :P

Got myself a PS4 in October, and I've amassed quite a few racing games. Though I do have EASWBF as well, just no DLC because I spend my money on DLC for Assetto Corsa and Driveclub. :P

So, anyone else use PS4? And for racing as well possibly? (Got me G29 wheel setup. :D)

Aye, Happy New Year everyone! :)

(Sucks that I'm at work though, and even more that I'm not getting paid time and a half for being here.) :(

Requests / Re: how to record video swbf ii.
September 25, 2016, 08:47:51 AM
Plays.tv is another good capture system I've used. It's free, and you can trim your clips with the software too. (You can set it to record up to 5 mins, or set it to no limit if you want to record more than a 5-min montage vid). As far has resources go, I've found little to no lag in recording with it (compared to using XSplit/Bandicam trying to record games such as Gear Up and GMod on my laptop). I'd recommend giving it a try, though might take a few mins to setup the settings to your liking as its meant to do montage/highlight stuff like those CS:GO/LoL/CoD games.

Although I no longer play, my favourite classes were:

SWBF: Republic Pilot, Droid Pilot/Imperial Pilot, ARC Trooper/Shock Trooper, Rocket Droid
SWBF2: Republic Commander, Republic/Imperial/Droid/Rebel Engineer
SWBF2 Hero: Boba/Jango Fett

Basing the SWBF2 stuff on what I had played most of, and trying to remember simultaneously. :P

Public Square / Should this be happening?

Hello, everyone,

So, just hopped on SWBFGamers to go through the threads, and realized that I've a weird website glitch. Pretty sure the old user icons shouldn't be lining the menu bar.

Device: iPhone 5C with iOS 9.

But how do we make it do that? :P
I'd like to know as well. Had to use Battlebelk's Custom Resoluton Launcher to get mine to spread, and even then it only covers 1360x768. Still 6 pixels short. :P

I'm hoping for a Clone Wars live action series!
Seeing how all the Star Wars stuff as of late has been focusing on filling the gaps in the Original trilogy, I'd doubt we'd get a Clone Wars adaptation. While a live action series would be cool, it'd be rough competing with the already-in-existence animated one. Plus, I can't think of what they could do with a Clone Wars-era adaptation, other than producing a miniseries that creates the events that lead up to Episode III, without using the main heroes of Anakin or Obi-Wan. That is literally the one way I could see us getting a live-action Clone Wars adaptation.

Also, not going to have high hopes for this. The discussion of a live-action Star Wars series has been in talks for more than a decade, and came close to being produced, except the production costs killed it in the end. While it'd be nice for them to finally produce some live-action material, it won't surprise me if they pass on it again due to (again), production costs.

But, I keep forgetting ABC is owned by the giant mouse. So, while it could possibly happen, I don't want to set my hopes too high in the event it goes under and doesn't happen.
