Regular games:
SWBF 1 (PS/2 and PC) rarely online these days.
Minecraft (SSP exclusivly)

Haven't touched in a while:
Pokemon (Still playing Platinum)

And at any random time, I might play a Castlevania game. Symphony of the Night being the best any 2d platformer can get.

About other games:
all of Tomb Raider games, except some weird, for PS2;
PowerSlave (Exhumed);
Treasures of the Deep;
Indiana Jones & The Emperor's Tomb;
The Mummy;
Xena Warrior Princess;
Vegelante 8 & Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense;
Need for Speed 4: High Stakes;
Spyro the Dragon series.

I have played so many great games it would be hard to narrow it down. I can say definitively that my favourite game I have ever played so far is Star Wars: knights Of The Old Republic. Following up in second place would probably be Portal 2. After those two it is hard to say.

Survival games like Dayz. DAyz is pretty much like the show The Walking Dead. There are some players that form communities and "provide" sanctuary where they live day to day watching for zombies and bandits, and they scavenge for supplies, then you have bandits who are out to kill and steal. Best part is that the game itself is fantastic and its only in its Alpha version. I cannot wait for the standalone to come out.

My favourite games are SWBF1 (PC/PS2), Uncharted 1,2 and 3 (PS3), Skyrim (P.C.), Kotor 1 and 2, all the Jedi Knight games, the original Age of Empires, Formula 1 2011 (PS3), Medieval: Total War, Deus Ex: Human revolution, Assasins Creed games (PS3), SWBF2 (PS2) and MX vs ATV: untamed (PS2). I'm currently playing Dark souls on and off but although it's very good it's too ridiculously hard to put on my list.
At last count I have over a hundred games not including stuff I've just used for an hour or so to have a look at it like Zork (which is actually good fun) and although I've put hundreds of hours into some games the most is still easily battlefront which I would guess is about 1200 hours online PC and 800 hours offline on PS2, although that is over 7-8 years. :)

Beyond SWBF I play Anything Valve makes (primarily TF2).
And of course, my main obsession:
MONSTER HUNTER

In no other game can you hit dragons with a hammer larger than yourself and roast 10 steaks simultaneously.

Hey look this topic got revived.

I recently stopped playing Tekken Tag Tournament 2. It's an addicting game online but once you start playing higher level people it's hard to keep up. The huge learning curve and the constant amount of metagames at once in a single match makes it probably one the most difficult competitive games I've ever played. Maybe that's what made me attracted to the franchise anyway but I stopped playing abruptly. Regardless I have no regrets buying the game.

Right now I'm playing NBA 2k13, Max Payne 3 and I've gotten back to old school Counter Strike 1.6. I haven't played CS in maybe 4 or so years, it's been forever. It's difficult to juggle more than three games at a time tbh.
(https://www.swbfgamers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fcdn.steampowered.com%2Fv%2Fgfx%2Fapps%2F10%2F0000002539.1920x1080.jpg%3Ft%3D1287184193&hash=b7e046e6b205db618d94dfe4b9099f788fecb6c5)
This is still the greatest game I've ever played.
@Roxas
If you ever get the new Tekken games, HMU one day. Not many people play Tekken anymore.

Currently playing Visual Basic .NET (2010) for the PC.

It's a little harder than the previous versions as this one intoduced full OOP compliance.

Not as fun as SWBF, but lots of stratigic development points. (And it's free.)

-edit
ugh.
Yeah.. a little too hard. I'm going backto structured basic (AutoIT.)
Objects can go play with their own methods till their properties fall off.

I never checked the dates.

The local mom and pop game store has a big square bin filled with various console sports titles.
I remember seeing the EA logo a lot.

I assumed it was because folks that liked sports were actually playing them and the video versions just didn't sell.
But if they are sales toppers, then I'm confused about how they end up in the junk bin?

To be fair, they are probably older x-box or ps2 versions. But this particular store has a huge assortment of 'retro' games, from the 2600 to now.  So everything in the building is for an 'old' system.  But the junk bin is reserved for the sports titles.

Old sports games have outdated rosters, that's the biggest reason. Generally, people think that as time goes on, issues in these games will be fixed, and so buying newer titles will mean better gameplay.

This of course isn't true, since games that are released every year can only be patched so much, so sometimes you get titles that stagnate. I personally bought Madden NFL 13 because there's a new physics engine, and the game play is smoother, but if '14 changes very little, I'll just play the older title with custom rosters  :moo:

There are a couple of good NFS games like NFS Underground 2 and The Run. But Forza 4 makes NFS games look like a five year old made the them. Im pretty bad at racing games with a right turn since all my life I have played NASCAR games, I even have a NASCAR game that once was selling for 800.00$ brand new for 1.50$ used at Goodwill. :o It's funny all the PC games I own are either presents or from Goodwill, or both.

Really wish I could play Carbon, except I lost the memory card to my GameCube... :( I had nearly everything completed too.

Though Undercover was decent at best. The effect of adding actual actors for cutscenes lost it's grip in the 90's, it just doesn't do justice to put them in the 2000's. Although it was a nice change to add a daytime setting, the plot was just dead awful.

Oh forgot undercover,i have it for PS3 and i think it was the last one worth of buying.(maybe the new most wanted?) I hated when they started making the games where to turn you just had to drift at like 300 Km/h ....

I know what you mean. When I played NFSU2 and Carbon, drifting was super hard for me. Now when I play Shift 2: Unleashed on my iPad, I drift EVERYWHERE!!!

And to me, I thought the new Most Wanted was probably the last one worth buying. Undercover had no interest for me. :P

I think many years ago the for speed series was asimulation like Gran turismo. I like Gran Turismo but I prefer games like GRID and NFS: Hot pursuit where crashing and drifting play a big part, otherwise I'll just go for a drive in real life. :) Although my favourite racing game at the moment is F12011 (didn't like 12 so much) as thats is a good blend of serious simulation and fun.

Used to play MarioKart Wii online, I don't though nowadays due to the T.V. being hogged everyday, and that I play SWBF 1 and 2 more on my laptop. If anyone is interested in doing a massive MarioKart tourney, fine with me. :D

I would totally love a MarioKart tourney. >If my copy was working :( And GM, you should get another TV for your consoles, doesn't have to be new or huge or anything, I use an original color TV from the 70's. :P Surely you have a TV you don't use sitting around the house somewhere.

Truth be told, we have a T.V. sitting somewhere that we don't use, but my brother flips if I change the channel...   :dry:

Racing games have always been one of my favorite. I've played quite a lot of them but I never feel that I've played enough. There are just way too many good racing games.

My opinions of the NFS series is drastically different than most people. Back in elementary school, NFS Underground 2 was absolutely amazing. The graphics and the gameplay seemed amazing then. However playing now, it is really difficult to even look at. The ground texture is atrocious and the environment feels so fake. I wasn't a big fan of Most Wanted. Others found it to be best in the series... but it's hard for me to agree. I've played Carbon on the gamecube... it's garbage. Worse than Underground 2 in terms of gameplay but the graphics were good for the console. TBH It makes no sense to make the whole game based on 4-man races when the previous games had more. The ps3/xbox/pc versions of the game has improved gameplay and of course better graphics.

Both Shift games were great sim racers. They didn't have as many cars as Forza or Gran Turismo but the gameplay and graphics were top notch. It's a shame they aren't making a third one. The developers are actually making an independent game called projectCARS. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

The Run was awesome and on PC the graphics looked great. Unfortunately I'm the only person who likes The Run. The new Most Wanted looks pretty and has good driving but the gameplay is just repetitive and there's no storyline to it. They're turned it into a Burnout Clone... except without the Burnout craziness. Prolly the worst 50 bucks I've spent. :(

As far as other franchises go, Gran Turismo is spectacular. I've 100% the first one in elementary school and that was NOT an easy task. There was no recommended shift indicator or driving line. You had to legitimately go through trial and error for every car to learn how to achieve optimal lap times. The amount of time I've spent in the first GT is probably more than any other game I've played, even to this day. I'm also a big fan of the 5th one but the sheer amount of content in that game is too much.

The GRID and DIRT games are great fun. While they're not simulators, they're still very great looking games with a lot of replay value. GRID of the PC was definitely ahead of its time. With a decent graphics card, it looks very photorealistic.

I'm the only person in the world who doesn't like Mario Kart. Maybe because of the banana peels.

I do not play SWBF1 online since my computer is on it's last legs and I do not want to risk ruining my computer with tungle or gameranger. SWBF2 is as good or better then the original in my opinion, I just wish people on SWBF2 where as nice as the ones on SWBF1.

NO! THE ORIGINAL SNES ONE WAS THE BEST!!

Just kidding, but the N64 one was really good. My fav is actually Mario Kart Wii, since it's the only one I own besides Double Dash for the GameCube, or Super Circuit for GameBoy. :P

I've got an incredible idea for a MMORPGFPS game. :XD: Been working on the concept for about four years now. I'm not that great at math so I couldn't C++ the code needed. The only way I could ever get into game design would be through game animation. A lot of colleges to choose from.

I don't see why people like the game. My little brother plays it as much as I play SWBF! (that's A LOT.)
Maybe it appeals to certain types of people. It just seems so, I don't know.  :shrug: It's always "You can build whatever you want!" Well I would rather do that in real life. Just get a giant box of LEGO's or something!

There's a difference right there Kit. Minecraft costs $20 to build whatever, keep it as is, add to it, save it, share it, etc. LEGO costs $100s of dollars to build whatever, hard to keep as it is, easy to add to it, impossible to save it (unless you happen to take a photo of it), and you can only share it by photos. :P

Your forgetting that some can't afford LEGO as well as a computer. I remember from my LEGO magazine in '06, the recreation of Boba's Slave 1 was like $60. The newer 2012 remake costs $120!!! I can't believe how much the price of LEGO has skyrocketed in the past few years.

If you're going to make this claim--a claim that I don't necessarily agree with; alternatively, I don't necessarily agree with it--I think you need to differentiate between a game "get[ting] boring" and becoming "old."

With my new PC I've been playing a lot of Crysis 2, now that I can afford to bump the settings up.

The gameplay's really good because while you're a superhuman, you still have a lot of flaws. You end up playing a game of hit and run. There's a lot of moments where it's best to escape and use invisibility to get to better areas of the map. Energy management is important, and fun!

Dem leaves.

I think this thing "Monolithsoft" looks pretty grand. I'll get it once I can afford a Wii U, also when it actually comes out.

But why WiiU only? I'm never a fan of 3rd party games being exclusive to a console. :(

I like Star Wars Battlefront II and SWBF1. I think in battlefront 2 there is a lot more you can do, but battlefront 1 was given enough time to be finished unlike the 2nd part. Both are overall fun. Kotor 1 and 2(With the restoration mod) are very beast. Super smash brothers brawl and melee are cool and I am a big fan of Mortal Kombat 2011.
Most star wars Games are fun to, so really I can't pick and choose what the best ones could be. some have good story, action or some other third thing that makes them stand out.  :moo: Moo.

They make Lego PC building games, unfortunatly they are from the '90s...

I owned one for awhile. It was called Lego Loco. It was too much for the normal household computer for its time and would cause your computer to run very slowly or completely crash. Mine crashed. Nowadays, you can download the Lego Brick Maker software for free, build what you want, and order the pieces for your custom creation online. I spent so much time with that. :P

I remember the good days when games would have an animation of you jumping into a vehicle or something, like Grand Theft Auto, and this game also lacks that.

I was actually debating between several other games when I bought that. I was debating between GRID, GRID 2, Need For Speed: Shift, or Shift 2: Unleashed.

Ideally I would've loved to get Assetto Corsa or Project Cars, but the price was too high (and the specs for Project Cars woul kill my current setup).

This post made me so happy.  :happy: All those are great games. Be careful getting Grid 2 (if you ever do) though, it's got very, very, VERY, bad controls. It was hard on my 360 because I don't have a wheel. It might be a bit better with a wheel but still it would be bad. Though I have heard somebody was working on a fix for it through mods.  Why not Autosport, though? 10 bucks on steam last time I checked.

Due to circumstances Assetto Corsa is unavailable to me to download for a bit. Though I have looked at a lot of videos and it seems pretty good. If you like more realistic racing games I would look at the simbin/sector3 stuff, ISI engine stuff, (rFactor, Arca sim racing, etc) Or even Papyrus' old stuff. Most Simbin games are dirt cheap on steam. I just checked, some are actually (Seriously) cheaper then a bag of dirt.

I've heard the pros and cons of GRID 2, though essentially I was aiming more towards a mix between arcade and realistic. And Autosport just seemed like DLC heaven (12 DLCs for that game).

In essence, the kind of racing games I'm looking for are really a mix between arcade and realism. I'd think Assetto Corsa or Project Cars would fill that, but again, pricing and hardware limits.

If you know any in that mix (that have relatively good/great graphics), I'd be willing to hear your suggestions. :)

Also found out Autolog servers have been canned for NFS:HP 2010 (or perhaps its the fact I am unable to think of an account name that has not already been taken...)

At the moment I'm playing Dragon Age: Inquisition that I upgraded my PC for which is a very good game. It looks like it's going to be a hundred+ hours worth. :)

I'm also going on Elite: Dangerous that I was in the Beta for and various other older games that I've probably posted about before...

I just finished Jedi Outcast for the first time, and I'll have to say, I enjoyed it a lot.  There's a lot of hack and slash, but there's also puzzles throughout the game.  Throughout the first 6 levels, it turned into one of my favorite games (even without a lightsaber.  Yeah, I know, some people really HATE not having a lightsaber, but I enjoy the challenge, and I'm more of a ranged fighter anyway).  The rest of the game did not disappoint.  You might want to play Jedi Knight Dark Forces II (one of my other all-time favorites) before you play this, but it is not necessary. :)

Remember to try out the extensive cheats for additional fun... if I recall correctly 'thereisnospoon' is a fun command to enter.

Had NFS Shift and Shift 2: Unleashed a few weeks ago. Not something I play regularly though (both games have boat-like handling I've found), but it's always fun to play whenever I feel like racing Nurburgring Nordschleife (so long...so challenging....but sooooo fun).

Found my old USB key with some games on it. Halo CE, BF1942, and AssaultCube. Good FPS fun again.

I'l be honest though, haven't been playing many games these past few weeks due to life and stuff. Might get back into SWRC and finish the campaign sometime, or go back to GoIO and level up my Engi/Gunner sometime.

You should probably check out Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, too. The singleplayer campaign isn't as good as Outcast, but it's still pretty fun, and there's a lot of cool new features in the game for both modes, like character customization, choosing saber hilts and the ability to use dual sabers or a doublesaber. Not to mention all the cool mods for MP. (ForceMod 3 and JA+ are personal faves of mine.)

EDIT: Also, the game's second SP level makes for a great sandbox environment for messing around with cheat codes. (It has all (or at least most) of the cheat codes from Outcast.)

Nurburgring is fun, but it's annoying to drive for ten minutes if you only want to do the carousel.   :whip: And sadly all simcades seem to have boat-ish handling it seems. TOCA was even like that.  :sick:

BF1942 is quite possibly the best FPS of all time (If you consider SWBF to be TPS). Nothing is quite as rewarding as nailing a Loopzook. Nothing is more disappointing when you realize it didn't record it. :D You should try BF Vietnam. I like it a bit better, but it's all a matter of opinion.

I actually played Jedi Academy almost 10 years ago in Multiplayer with my cousins (a couple years after playing JKDF2 online all the time).  Then, about 5 years ago I think, I actually got Academy and played through it.  Yeah, it had it's bright moments and was a great game, but there were always the same levels that you didn't do because they were too frustrating.  I personally liked to use the cheats on the level with Wedge, kill all NPCs and have fun there.  If I'm right, the 2nd level had to do something with the big wormy things, which was my favorite level to cheat on.

Jedi Academy was the first Star Wars game I played, it's hard to believe it came out 11 years ago. The lightsaber combat is really well done, far better than any newer games I think, Outcast is equally good.
I enjoy all the Jedi knight games in single player, the only thing I don't like is some of the puzzles in the dark forces games that have really obscure solutions so you just end up stuck then finding the answer by accident.

Yeah, that's thing I hated about the 2 Shift games. Great graphics and stuff, but the boat-like handling is a nightmare. Spent a solid hour trying to perfect the tutorial on Shift 2 due to the crappy grip of the tires. At least Shift 1 didn't have as far boat-like handling in it.

Really just looking for a simcade without the boaty handling. Is GRID like that? Or boaty as well?

I thought the original Shift was, well, slightly like a boat. But I also haven't played it for a while due to it's...      unique handling. Any way you describe it, it left a lot to be desired.

And, I also heard there was a handling mod that corrects the grip levels and such for Shift 2. I don't own Shift 2, so I haven't an idea if it's any good or not. Tell me if it's any good, if it is I may try it.

I believe this to be it.  http://www.virtualr.net/need-for-speed-shift-2-handling-minimod-released/
Mods are so nice.

Grid, it has it, but nothing awful. It's just a hint that it's there, and can be a pain. I feel like I'm cornering and not knowing where the car will end up until I exit the corner or hit a wall. That annoys me. Though the F3 and F2 cars lack it, and are reason enough to buy Autosport. You probably missed the deal when it was Dirt cheap, didn't you?

Speaking of Dirt...             it's pretty good. While I only have the third one working, the one that's most hated, I like it. It has the same issues as Grid but it's twice as fun.

While writing this I remembered that CD codes on physical versions work with steam often, the first one had some security issue with my PC. But the steam version should work. I added a satellite ISP a while back so I can now download things like a normal human being. But, alas it went over the data limit (Though it didn't... they just like saying that) so I cannot DL the original Dirt. I did hear it is pretty good at not being floaty, so if it isn't floaty I'll let you know.

Maybe Driver: San Francisco? Test Drive Unlimited 1-2? (I have no experience with this one, but I hear it's good)

The Project Gotham Racing series was extremely fun, but only on Xbox. If you have an Xbox or Xbox 360, get a copy. It's one great game.

Thanks for the link, I'l try out the grip mod for Shift 2 later.

As for the GRID sale, yeah, I kind of missed it. I haven't been that fond of DIRT in recent years, though I've heard good things about it.

Driver San Fransisco seems to play a bit more on the arcade aspect than any sim relevance, however I am willing to look past that and perhaps try it out if it goes for $2 or something.

I've looked into TDU2 a bit, and for the most part the gameplay looks pretty solid. The only issue I have is the reviews recently state a lot of players having login/startup issues with the game, which is rather unfortunate. Otherwise, I probably would've gone for it already and perhaps been enjoying it.

I don't own an Xbox 360, so Project Gotham Racing is out of my league already.

I know it's not necessarily a racing sim, but I'l give credit, TrackMania United is awesome. The gameplay is incredible, physics are very realistic surprisngly (even though most tracks are built like a stunt course), and you can't ram into other players. I still hop into it every now and then (the Carpark site has loads of Car skins for the game, and some even have custom engine sounds as well), and I always get a good kick out of it.

If you aren't willing to shell out $30 for it, Trackmania Nations offers the same experience, with the only difference being no other environments (literally, just the Stadium environment, which is fine since nobody really plays the others online).

Got Warframe tonight...I think I've found the game to respark my liking to FPS again.

I actually do have Nations, I've just been to lazy to play it. And it doesn't really seem to want me to use a controller or a wheel.  :dry: And I dislike keyboards for driving games.

EDIT: A game I should have mentioned is NASCAR Heat. Whilst you probably aren't a fan of driving cars in circles for hours, it has plenty of non-NASCAR mods for it. I know you use windows 8 or 8.1, and my 8.1 machine does not run it more then 3FPS. My issue is also shared by another person, and to my knowledge he never got around it. But, there appears to be a demo so you could try that and see how it runs. http://www.fileplanet.com/48531/40000/fileinfo/NASCAR-Heat-Demo-v1.1

Hah, I'm too cheap to get a wheel for racing games. :P Always been using keyboard for racing, and it's relatively fun.

I also play NFS World off and on (cars are insanely expensive in the higher classes, if you have no skill mods/don't do treasure hunts daily). It's essentially taking both worlds from NFS Most Wanted and Carbon, merging Most Wanted into Carbon, and then making it a racing MMO. Granted, some cars will have awesome gripping power and others will be boats (the Audi R8s are boaty unfortunately), and it's more an arcade than a sim anyways. Still, free to play, and fun to play with (considering most players tend to have a C class car if they've been playing for a while).

If you ever get the game/have it and want to play it again, look me up on there sometime. I'm not on there now (Warframe is so much fun), but if you ever feel like it just hit me up and I'l go a few rounds with ya. :P

I definitely need to try it. Stupid internet is keeping me from it though, or even seeing videos of it. What is this, the 90s? :(

Autosport is on sale again. That game keeps going on sale, like every month it goes on like a 70% sale.

Half-Life 2, Bioshock Infinite, Natural Selection 2 (my primary MP game these days), Dishonored, Mech Warrior Online.

Just to name a few.  :P

One reason I posted about this, is to get us involved in to more games. And the more I know about what you all play, the more succesful we can be at this. So far only two people have voted, I am awaiting more.

Heh, I found a copy of Call of Duty 5 for a whole pound.
Seven years has not been kind to that particular online community.
Every server has a good number of hackers flying around insta-killing players as they spawn.

I obviously got it for the zombies mode... which is just as good as I remember.

Recently got into Trove as of yesterday, and I'm enjoying every minute of it! Although it uses Glyph for it's client (because the devs behind Trove are the guys behind Rift), that doesn't detract from the gameplay. I fully recommend if you want a simple, clean MMORPG to hop into that is voxel-based. :)

Wait you bought that for PC too? We outta hit it up sometime in a private match of zombie slaying!

WaW if I had anything to say was probably the last really good WW2 era game I'd played. Well that and MoH Airborne (but that had an extremely short campaign).

Naw, my housemate has a PS3. I'll be installing bootcamp as soon as my copy of Windows 7 turns up on the mail... so hopefully I'll play the PC version too.

I just bought Rocket League yesterday and it's fantastic. Me and nightfalcon played for awhile and it's the most fun I've had in a long time. I'd suggest everyone pick it up on steam, it's only 20 bucks  :cheers:

I love to play my own games. Some of them I placed on my website. I do enjoy playing SWBF with you guys, even though I'm not good at it. And I also enjoy playing Rainbow Six Vegas 2 on Tunngle, but only Team Death Match or Death Match if there aren't enough players for TDM. I grew bored by Terrorist Hunt and Story Mode. TDM is the only real threat that is provides a unique fun only multiplayer can provide.
