Who can help me to create icon for my program (http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=11975.0). I think that the icon must be Sith Holocron in proportions 16*16, 32*32, 48*48, 128*128 pixels.

I can't draw a bit (at least on computer) but there are plenty of app icons and art on the internet you can use.I used a few to give a new look to my modded version of game.I'm pretty sure I can find one for your but, what exactly do you mean by Sith Holocron?Do you mean those pyramid shaped (luminatyr confirmed :)) holocrons Siths use?
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Sith_holocron/Legends

By the way, in what format do you want the icons to be in?(png,ico,icns...)

I've got a website full of app icons:http://www.iconarchive.com/search?q=Star+Wars+
There's a LOT of pages to go through but most of them are basically the same.

Does this happen on all your consoles, game copies, and controllers?
If so,try and update your Xbox software.Experiment with different (preferably new) controllers (although you already said that it only happens on LAN) , as heavily used controllers will have worn out buttons that might not work well (worn out springs) or function on it's own. This seems to be a glitch though. If they had any updates for the game, try to install them.If they don't support updates for SWBF anymore, search for one online.

Tech Support / Re: Cannot Join Servers

Upon attempting to join a server, my game completely shuts down, exiting to windows. I have tried joining different servers as well as restarting my computer. It was working as normal the previous day. Do you have any suggestions?

Although your problem is already solved, I can give some tips if this happens for other people. It is a very simple fix.
If your game crashes when joining a server, replace the battlefront.exe with another GameMaster exe.You can use auto installer though I prefer to do manually.Don't forget to rename the SWBFSpy.exe (gamemaster) to battlefront.exe and place it in Game Data.

You can do the same thing if your game won't launch at all and keeps crashing to desktop.Because I force quit a LOT (you should probably know why...) I generally break the app quite often. This also works with SWBF 2.If replacing the battlefront.exe doesn't work, you could try deleting your profile in Saved Games (inside Game Data).

Putting some tags here for google:
SWBF 1 crashes to desktop.SWBF 2 crashes to desktop.Star Wars Battlefront crashes, does not join server . Star Wars Battlefront 2 crashes to desktop, does not join a server. SWBF crashes when joining a server.Star Wars Battlefront 1 (2004) Crashes to desktop, won't launch, crashes when joining a server.

Wow!The launcher starting to look pretty  :censored:good! :tu:
Have a suggestion though. For quick messages, can you code a command circle that is activated by say,key "Q"?Like in Battlefield 2 ?

Note:Sorry if this post looks like it was shared by two users but I'm just to lazy to re-read my post for the 19nth time for some more editing. Please keep all the hate (fake,I hope) to yourselves.Or just tell one of the Mods to delete this.

I would recomend the manual installation by replacing the original exe with the Gamemaster(renamed to Battlefront.exe).Windows 10 should have no differences with installing the patch to SWBF 1 ,though there might be some problems with the auto-installer.

I just installed Star Wars: Battlefront, on my new Windows 10 laptop today. Battlefront installed and ran fine natively on the computer. I attempted to install the patch manually, by moving the GameMaster battlefront.exe into the GameData folder, but whenever I tried to run the exe, it asked for a cd, which I already had in the computer. The patched exe is also suppose to be no CD patched. I had read online that Windows issued an update, on all computers with the operating systems 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 that had messed with the CD check functionality, I have witnessed this problem first hand with a couple of older games. I'm not sure if this is the same problem or not. In the end, I just updated my hosts file and was able to access the servers just fine.

I know this is for recounting your problems with Windows 10 and I'm a Mac user, but coudn't help but read this Thread topic.Concerning the Gamemaster exe It would be better to rename the exe to Battlefront.exe and replace the old one. Then you can launch from the actual application icon instead of from the exe and/or making a shortcut.Unless, for what ever reason, you would like to keep the original exe.

Next,The Gamemaster exe is not patched for no cd,unless you have the DvD copy of SWBF(judging by Led's posts, has no DRM).The only way to get it working without a CD is using a no cd crack (which is technically illegal, confirmed by Led,again) and launching the game, then Replacing the no cd exe (battlefront.exe) with the renamed Gamemaster.exe.

I'm sorry that this (part) post is unnecessary and not even related to this topic, but there are moments when you want to unload you knowledge on the world,ya know?

Yeah, no one has gotten SWBF2 to work with wine, AFAIK

SWBF 2 does work on WINE, quite well actually, but it will have incredibly long loading times and some people say that the audio cuts out later(hasn't happened for me). When GameSpy was still free off GLU mobile, multiplayer didn't really work. And on top of that, you needed a no-cd crack. And nobody had got the the LaunchBF.exe to work. WINE could work with SWBFSpy, but you will not be able to connect.

Which port is this because SWBFspy has not worked for me with SWBFII no matter what I try.
(nor does it work for SWBFI for me either)
Right after I posted this I tried out SWBFI online and now it works fine lol
I have no idea why I wasn't able to join any servers for months but now I'll see ya all on the servers!

This is the port, which uses Cider(as the other one on the website uses WINE).Has regular loading speeds, as apposed to wine, and multiplayer works (for me).http://portingteam.com/files/file/8333-star-wars-battlefront-2/

PLEASE NOTE THAT FOR BOTH WINE AND THIS PORT(Man I love that word)YOU WILL NEED A NO-CD CRACK/PATCH.

You will also require WINE to install the game, from which you can move the game files to the port.

Remember to place the port in applications as it won't save a bit then.I recommend using an application caled PlayOnMac (linux as well)to install as it is way easier to work with.Or you can use the installer app that came with the SWBF1 port that you hosted (should work, as it installs certain wine tricks and libraries when you start up the app).

Hey, I'd install it on a friends computer (that's what I have to do now) and transferring the files you need.
That or borrow someone's external CD drive.
I don't recommend pirating the game in any way.

It's not pirating if you already install it.and the CD's just there so that the game wouldn't be pirated anyway.I anyways want to preserve my CD (you know, for the future...).is it legal to get a no-CD Patch/Crack?The game is pretty old.

The resolution I use is already in SWBF 2,but thanks for helping out.And besides,an inch of black on the sides of my game isn't that bad.

I dont have swbf1 installed right now but that website doesnt lie I think. It also says you have to have the latest patch Star Wars Battlefront Version 1.3.

As for Mac, google is your friend, apparently there are many ways to make parameters work on mac. there are some here: https://superuser.com/questions/16750/how-can-i-run-an-application-with-command-line-arguments-in-mac-os

also in the tweakguide website I linked, read the vidmode.ini part, might be another way to enable resolutions

Thank you so much!

You can buy a used disk from eBay or another online vendor, but if you prefer not to,you can buy a digital copy of SWBF 2 from GoG or steam. Both are windows but you can (once again) use a port.I recommend you buy it from GoG as you cannot use the steam version through a port.

You will have to use WINE for steam (An application that fools and application into thinking it's in a windows environment and translates to your preferred OS).WINE can be a very confusing landscape of commands and crash logs, and SWBF2 takes quite a long time to load games(5-10 min),audio cuts out a bit later. If you still would like to go with WINE,use an application called PlayOnMac ,which uses wine, but is more user friendly.(you will see a bunch of playonlinux on the site,as that is the main program, but they are the same thing)

I own a MacBook and just recently discovered that battlefront was originally released on mac. However, I'm cautious whether to do this or not because I've modified the sides and more importantly I don't own the disk. I'd appreciate it if someone could help point me in the right direction on this. But if it can't work, it's completely fine too.

Thanks,

chEEF

I suggest using the port from kit fisto, works very well.

You will have to use a no cd patch/crack if you don't have a cd but it works. If you want to play online, apply the no cd patch, launch your game, then close and replace with the SWBFSpy exe and Viola!(I really don't know if it is legal or not but I did try it once when I couldn't find my cd,then I got scared and did a full house search for he disk...)

I don't know about the Mac version, thought it was a patch/port kinda thing, but as it is/was quite old, you'll probably have a better performance with the port given by Kit.(my iMac from 2007 btw)

Here's Kit Fisto's thread http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=5450.0
P.S. the port was not made by him,it was from a user at the porting team(they have cider ports for most games for Mac usage)but the porting team does not have that page anymore.Kit is currently hosting it on his media fire account.
Porting team also has a 2 ports for SWBF 2.They may have long loading times but you can play online(tried) using the SWBFspy exe.(Don't forget to rename it!)

Tech Support / Re: How To Properly Get SWBF To Work
June 03, 2017, 03:45:10 AM
Is there still a place to get the Aspyr patch for Mac?
Both of your links don't have the patches.(Aspyr doesn't have that page and mpcgamers is no more...)
I would also like to know the performance between a cider port(tested it,and works perfectly, multi and single play) or the patch(don't know if I will be able to play online with windows players, though will be able through game ranger).

Edit-Yes,this is quite an old post,I'm sorry.

no thats swbf1, and as for where you "input" the command, read the website

Mac does not have the ability to view properties. You can use the "get info" option on mac but I don't know what to do for there.Plus, the .exe file is for windows.

Thank you so much for your help though.

SWBF1 does not take a resolution command, only SWBF2.

Are you sure?
https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Battlefront

Whether it accepts or not through the shortcut,I won't work on Mac though.
Is Kit Fisto still active? He should be able to know how to configure the port to launch through battlebelks custom launcher exe instead of battlefront.exe.
