Tis already ordered by Number of Players.  I can move the picture to the bottom of the page to make scrolling easier.
--Update: Moved picture.  The site now looks like it was made for an iframe.

Forum News and Forum Rules / Server List
February 13, 2019, 07:47:23 PM
I have added the server list to the home page.  Please take a look at it and judge it harshly.
Sometimes it doesn't load in the iframe.  You can go to https://stats.swbfgamers.net to see it in its full glory.

If you want to see expanded functionality, go ahead and ask.  I'm not afraid to try stuff, considering I have a different version of this page on my personal server.

Thrawn is in that map as far as I know.
Psych0fred has been a huge help to this community and given us valuable information over the years to expand modding horizons.  He is a kind chap who still checks his email on that site and takes time for questions - some of our recent questions had to do with exe source limitations.

There is, however, due to the way the console in BF1 was designed, you cannot use it ingame except for toggleholos.  You can use all the console commands in SPTest, however. You need a modified common.lvl with the Fake Console button unhidden.

My theory is that it has something to do with writing results to protected or a nonexistent memory location, but I have no clue how to prove or substantiate that and I'm no way an expert.  In SPTest, the thing writes the result of the command on the screen, but in the regular .exe, it can't do that.  And then it crashes. :(  Toggleholos is the only command that does not use the green screen console writing function.

This should be able to help with sounds: http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=6176.0
It will require basic mission lua editing, which there are many tutorials of.  I think there is something you can try in there too with cross era.

I second Unit.  It's been about 10 years and I still remember this map.  I don't think it was made with Dark Troopers in mind :)
Also, there's some weird movement glitches in certain spots around the CP in the enclosed base - no SPtest errors though.  There are some spots where it's almost like the ground isn't flat (where it's supposed to be) and you slow down.

Awesome!  Always nice for me to see these betas being found to see what's in them.

General / Copyright - Using Apeiron as an example
February 01, 2019, 06:11:21 AM

This is a great video to explain the limits of Fair Use and copyright when it comes to video games, and is relevant to our community here.  I gained a lot of useful information from this video (I watched the original SidAlpha video too, but this one is better backed up)

Note that this should not discourage modding here - it is the reason, however, that we should be mindful of using other assets.  Or creating a standalone or recreating the game in another engine.  Lucasarts does have legal rights to order us to take down any of our mods, but we have had discussions here about how they encourage modding, so that is not a big fear.  For greater discussion, see here: http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=12474.0

Once again, not to incite fear, just informational.  If you've read the 2nd link, you can see the EULA that Disney has actually broadened as compared to the original mod tools EULA.

SWBF1 Modding / Re: The "Strange things" Thread

SALLY can apparently only count to 5.  First 5 units, which even after exe editing to get 6 doesn't work right, and now with 6 eras it magically moves the button list and breaks mouse control

Give me a few decades then I'll think about trying it.
I feel like we should have had this technology a long time ago yet I'm still not ready for it ;)

I picked it up because $5 is amazing for any game really, but especially a big budget Star Wars one.  From what I saw the side stories with MTX initially made it undesirable at $60 or more.  I've enjoyed the Multiplayer so far when I can get a game in and can't wait to try the campaign.

Yes, this is multiplayer compatible, as long as all clients have it.

AFAIK, you do NOT need the server executable to have this hex edit, just a mission.lua edit.  It would be in a different place in battlefront.exe, regardless, but in my testing it only matters if you pull up the spawnselect screen.

Maintenance finished - should be back to regular operations in short order.

Huh. Interesting. I guess that explains why the SWBFModders forum literally only has him as a poster (I presumed it was just an attempt to parody his community contributions as a sort of 'one-man-team' effort, given how much he posts about server hosting in his newsletter).

Regardless, I looked through his other posts, found more that reference me, and enjoyed their satirical spin. I don't have a problem with his humor, even when interpreting it from the lens of being an enemy, since literally everything is so exaggerated that legitimate criticism is hard (if not impossible) to discern. Like, if someone mocks everything, then are they really mocking anything?

But okay, I'll refrain from mentioning him again unless legitimate concerns develop.
The thing is, they are not satire.  He legitimately thinks everything he is saying is true.  And though yours may look satirical, the things he has said about many other community members are harassment.
We can talk more in PMs if you need to.
I'm in no way upset - others have found his sites, and it has been mentioned somewhere in other places in the forum, but once in a while history does need to be iterated to inform new members.
