Released Assets / Re: TIE Tank, adopted for SWBF1

I feel like this TIE tank should've been the Empire tank instead of the IFT-T. Cool vehicle

I plan on getting this game when I'm on break. I checked the requirements, and the minimum GPU is a Radeon 2800 series. Luckily I run the 3200 series, so I should be able to run this game, right? :P

(I also checked the other minimum specs, and I'm up to code with those too :D)

You probably can then, I have a mediocre laptop and the game runs really well on mine. Keep in mind when you play that since the game has been out for awhile, the renting system has been nerfed and items cost a lot now, so that you almost have to spend 10-20 dollars just to play the game somewhat consistently. For a good 6 months though that game was one of my favorites, it's a top notch shooter.

Seeing as we have almost no information except for the brief statements from DICE, its hard to tell how this will effect battlefront's current development (Though im assuming it will take anywhere between a few weeks to a month to fix BF4). Respectably, EA needs to get their stuff together. Give your game dev's enough time to fix bugs and problems because essentially they gave customers an unfinished game. Its things like this that worries me, EA didn't give DICE enough time to iron out most of the problems. They better not do this to battlefront, they have 2 years to finish it so they have more than enough time.

Agreed, a lot of games nowadays are being rushed and are being released in basically alpha or beta stages. I'd rather wait the extra year or so to make sure this game is great, because this reboot is going to let me relive my greatest gaming days.

I can see it now: Only 3-4 ships in the base game. Pay 10 dollars for your chance to fly a Y-Wing or X-wing!

In all seriousness, this doesn't sound like the most ambitious project, though I'll probably give it a spin or two. Some F2P games are really good (Dota 2, Blacklight, SWTOR was decent) but I have my doubts here.

Without Lucas controlling it's quality and design I feel it has a very good chance that it's doomed to failure.

George Lucas did a terrible job of controlling the quality of the prequel trilogy, without him leading the project it can only go up from rock bottom. This is the guy who at some point approved Star Wars Kinect.

I don't know why anybody is really surprised by Disney doing crossovers, in this day and age crossovers are all over the place. They're meant to increase brand value and get people excited about their IP's. Star Wars should be a hit with kids, even though the last movies were made almost 10 years ago. The way to set it up for success in the future is to get it popular with kids and the young crowd. And Star Wars is a huge money maker, I'm not surprised at all that they're trying to cash in on it.

And again, don't make the mistake of thinking that Disney is cashing in on Star Wars any more than George Lucas already has. George Lucas did his fair share of star wars cartoons too.

I'd rather it be an amazing Cult Classic that sold very little, over it being a awful crowd pleaser that was adapted to social comfort zones. Although my opinions still remain unfounded, until a latter time.

The original star wars was never a cult classic. According to wikipedia,

QuoteProduced with a budget of $11 million and released on May 25, 1977, the film earned $460 million in the United States and $314 million overseas

Star Wars isn't an obscure franchise, it's one that's shaken pop culture like no other. It is as mainstream as it gets, and it's a huge money maker. If club penguin or phineas and ferb offer kids some fun that's fine, their entertainment is not interfering with mine. As long as the next movies are a shoulder above the prequel movies I'll be fine with it. And as long as EA makes more mature games geared at people older than 12, then the franchise will be hitting all demographics and we should be happy.

I feel like even if you gave a battle droid a lightsaber it'd just accidentally stab itself.

I love big maps!Thats the main thing why i move to Battlefiel 3 and leave COD.

You know, between this and the Battlefront reveal trailer on Hoth I'm reminded of the Big Hoth mod map, which hugely expands hoth and adds tons more vehicles to it. I think if DICE makes maps similar to that, with more going on in the tunnels/structures on the map, and supports 64 players, this game will be unbelievably entertaining.

Sadly, I think most of that attention would be directed at the more recent addition to the series, SWBF2. Every so often steam posts sales for the game, and a lot of people return to it, so there's still a lot of nostalgia for it.

I have to wonder if the maps will be traditional star wars locations (Hoth, Bespin, Death Star) or if they will be tied into the movies. Regardless, I am really excited about this game. This franchise is in desperate need of a reboot.

Though this is certainly good news, the Xbox is still 100 dollars more expensive than PS4, there is no Halo coming immediately on the new Xbox, and I can just play Titanfall on my PC. There's really not much incentive for me to buy one right now, I think I will still buy PS4 if my friends are leaning the same way.

Yeah, this tool isn't entirely accurate. For some reason, it doesn't read my video card correctly. I just did a test run, and it says I can't run Dishonored, when I already played through the game on High graphics/nearly 50 fps.

FINALLY this topic is bumped!!!            One day, after the shutdown, right before I was to go to my grandma's house, I started playing a SP game. It was a mod map, but I doubt that had anything to do with it. So when the map was starting, something seemed very, VERY odd, but I couldn't put my finger on it. When I got to the spawn selection, ALL the characters where INVISIBLE, only the guns could I see. The droideka, lol just plain invisible.

What you witnessed was just Pandemic's abandoned plans to introduce the new Stealth/Ninja deka.

Killzone?
And don't forget SWBF, u BK scrub hardscoper.

I'm probably in the same boat (thought if I do I decide to upgrade to the next generation, it won't be for a while) in that I'm not tied to Microsoft.  From the pure hardware specs, it looks like the PS4 is the superior machine; whether this superiority will amount to anything or whether it will prove to merely be nominal will be up in the air.

That said, I don't know how you can say that PS+ is better than Xbox LIVE when it doesn't have HBO Go.
Personally, I'm fine with just Netflix, but maybe PS will announce HBO Go. You're right though, Xbox probably has a slight edge on the entertainment side of things.

I actually don't know much about Killzone, I'll try to do more research but I don't know if it's mainly a singleplayer shooter or if it has solid multiplayer. Gameplay does look nice though, and visually it looks like the PS4 cranks the game up.

I might just see if I can get the PS4 for Christmas. I don't know if this is true but you would be able to play PS2 games on the PS4? Is it digital? It depends what's going on but I've always liked the Playstation consoles over the Xbox consoles.

The PS4 isn't backwards compatible, neither is the Xbox One. However, I believe Playstation has talked about the Gaikai service that would allow you to play PS 1/2/3 games. Gaikai won't launch until sometime in 2014 though, so it will be a bit before you can play previous games.

If you want to play older games I would recommend just buying a PS2/3, prices for both will be at rock bottom very soon.

PS+ is far better than Xbox live in terms of what you get, and only multiplayer will be restricted to PS+. You can still watch Netflix on the PS4 without having to pay for subscriptions.

I've payed for Live the last few months anyways, I don't really mind having to pay for the PS+ service. Also, I'm assuming that the service will be greatly improved if it has a lot of money going towards it. And 50 dollars isn't even too much to ask if you play multiplayer a lot.

Anyways, I have to say that as a guy happy with his 360, who loves Halo, the PS4 just looks much more appealing to me. I'm pretty sure all my friends are switching over too, going to have to see if they want to play Destiny/Battlefield to get our shooter fix.
