Remarkable!

Near the end of the Yavin IV campaign mission, you break open the barrier into the temple and, unique to this level, you see an AAC-2 tank.

Looking through the ODFs, I'm not sure if I found the correct sources to verify their stats. The most likely candidates for this are:

all_hover_bos_combatspeeder
all_hover_combatspeeder

Assuming that the "bos" one refers to it being a sort of "boss" of this level, I'm perplexed by the only difference being that "bos" has 4000 hp while the other one has 8000.

Is someone willing/able to verify that the correct ODFs were selected and the right conclusions made?

Your list of projects keeps growing! As excited as I am about each and every one of them (including this one), please finish some of them before adding more!

Btw, are you thinking about adding wampas as a third faction?

Hello!

As part of my research into the history of Battlefront, I've accumulated an assortment of videos, even some that have been otherwise deleted from the internet (such as certain Hunt For The Jedi machinima). Enjoy!

By the way, thank you so much for making this. Because I never had the console versions, I was never certain how many of these tutorial videos were released. Now I know that the answer is 8!

These maps add a whole new level of context for what Jens Andersen said in Feb 2004:

QuoteThe maps vary in size greatly. Our environments range from arid deserts and icy plains to urban streets and dense jungles. But there are essentially two styles of maps we have, vehicle heavy or infantry heavy.
The vehicle heavy maps tend to be much larger and expansive since the vehicles of Star Wars are fast and powerful. The battle of Hoth and Geonosis are excellent examples of large expansive maps with lots of vehicles.

So yeah, of course the map is a slog while playing as infantry! It was solely intended for vehicle combat!

These are indeed exciting times for BF1 modding!

Always happy to see another mobile map ported.  :tu: I hope someday for there to be one giant map pack that includes every single Battlefront location.

Btw, is this for BF1 or 2?

This sounds absurdly awesome.

However, I'm not a modder, so my ability to contribute is likely minimal.

Yes, the retrospective is looking pretty good, probably close to finish. Right now, I think it's at the stage when I'm mostly concerned with polish and considering interview questions for any developers interested in responding.

Also, the document for BF1, alone, is now over 400 pages. Sure, much of that is just articles, but that's still a substantial piece of work!

And suddenly all of those theories about the Officer class have been turned on their heads. The clone Officer being a red ARC trooper and not the yellow-lined unit found in images (which was a prototype Pilot)? Interesting.

I'll have to rewrite portions of my retrospective in light of this video.

So basically, experience Sereja's if you want to explore a recreation of interior locations and play yours for the portions outside of the palace?

I like the sound of that.

SWBF1 Modding / Sereja's new Kashyyk map and Yoda
January 21, 2020, 07:52:45 AM
It's a fantastic map and, to my surprise, features a well-proportioned Yoda. For a SWBF1 map, this astounded me, because every other version of Yoda I've seen featured him using an Ewok body, causing his appearance to look distorted. And here he is, looking good and moving with such quality animation. This is an innovation that needs to be in more mods, whether as a new heroic leader or as part of a revamped Hero Assault mode. Could we make this happen?

General / Re: The Rise of Skywalker Thoughts and Opinions

I was really disappointed by Ep 7, and nothing can be better than Ep 8. so I expect this to be an even bigger disappointment.

Because being a Force ghost is really, really hard. The Clone Wars tried to go into more detail about this, but the reality is that, since Obi-Wan did not seem to have much of an issue expressing himself during ESB, a lot of issues opened up in the series continuity about the nature of their capacity.
