The Star Wars Battlefront III fan remake: "Galaxy in Turmoil" is heading to Steam! I had never heard of this particular remake before, but this article caught my eye. It kind of shocks me that Steam would even agree to do this, I mean the legality of this is questionable at best. At any rate though, it sounds like a neat idea.

For those of you who won't bother to read the article, I just want to point out that it is not available now and there is no indication of when it will become available.

Here is the link to the article:

And here is the link to the original announcement:

Any thoughts on the subject anyone?

I wonder what a bit of "Diplomacy" to them, for lack of a better word, could bring back to this website...

Awesome! It may run UE4, and it may have high system requirements because of it, but I will still download it and endure the crushing, laggy 7FPS just to play it! :D

Was going to make a post about this earlier and this was posted before the news came around. This is why I love SWBFGamers ;)

I can't wait, especially considering it being free to play! I can already tell EA are going to be embarrassed. If a group of fans manage to get more respect for their game than EA, EA should finally get what they deserve. Gameplay wise it looks fantastic from their Youtube clips. I cannot wait to give this a go!

I've been hearing a lot suspicious things about the current development team.
There's a lot of talk that the project has been engineered as a publicity stunt, and notions of the game being built from scratch are nonsense, as the majority of assets have been ripped from Free Radical's build.

And of course Valve will immediately remove the game as soon as Disney files for a cease and desist.

It's too early to make a fair judgement, just keep those expectations in check.

They have a new storm trooper model and have already started making thier own models based on the free radical assets. Like they said they are place holders untill thier modeler finishes more. The battle droid is also a completly new model. I can see why it looks like they just want atenttion but if anyone would visit thier discord, twitter or youtube channel they can see they mean some pretty serious bussiness. They wanted the press becuase they wanted to get more people on board. They are a group of fans that were frustrated with whatever EA gave us. The problem with them getting on steam is what a lot of other people think. They should have been more secretive with it and then released something more polished later on. Disney and even some memebers of dice already have cuaght wiff of this project, a cease and desist does look likely either though they arnt making a cent.

It was a matter of time, but LucasFilm have shut it down. However, they will be going ahead just as "Galaxy In Turmoil", a game that plans on carrying on the Battlefront idea without using the Star Wars IP.

In Progress:
--Star Wars: Battlefront - Anniversary Edition (formerly Star Wars: Battlefront - Legacy Edition)
--Endor: Imperial Base

I had made a post on this without knowing that this one was made, but I say my thoughts about this on there.
The years just fly past, don't they?

Well, I think we are fortunate that our little corner of the empire is still intact.  I suspect that they could take it away if they wanted.

What would they benefit from taking this away?

That's my worry too. Could they target the modding communities of the original games? It's possible, especially if they realise what great work has been done with them.

Let them do that, I'll make a mod that says EA sucks.
Never let a person named AnthonyBF2 touch your BF2.

I highly doubt they would be able to get rid of an entire community that are modding a game that is not owned by them and was not made by them.

So they can just go and throw the heads in a pile of money and leave us alone.

So if I understand the game didn't even had the time to be diffused?  Like... not a single leak ?
That sort of thing frequently happens with freeware.
