Simple topic, what are everyone's favorite movies or movies that you enjoy on a regular basis?
Let's refrain from saying Star Wars since that's implied on a Star Wars game website. ;)

Mine?
Well at the moment I'm really getting into The Hobbit and I can't wait for the 2nd one to come out.

Also Tron: Legacy is amazing. Maybe because it's like a giant music video with Daft Punk doing the soundtrack? Or because of the great visuals. Either way I really like that movie.

Who else? Put your favorite movie other than Star Wars (if you even like SW) and why you like that movie so much! :D

Favourite movies:

-Inception: I really liked the whole mind-bending movie, it just seemed awesome to me. The illusions were also spectacular!

-In Time: Really liked the idea of time as currency, pretty much the main thing that's drawn me to it.

-Tron: Legacy: Loved the techno feel, and just the overall art style. Also liked the Daft Punk soundtrack with it!

-The Avengers: Who seriously doesn't love that film?

-Avatar: Can't go wrong with Avatar. The feel of the environment was amazing, alien, yet identical. Also, really did like those mechs the humans used. :D

Favourite movie of all: Tron: Legacy.

9 - Literally, that's the name of it, 9. It's a movie about a group of ragdolls that are bound each with one of the 9 parts of the human soul, in a scientist's last effort to save what's left of humanity in a post-apocalyptic world tha-
... Nevermind I almost spoiled a really good movie. Trust me, it's a must see.

Inception - It was cool, but I really liked it because of my studies in psychology.

In time - That was awesome!

Transporter - WOOT JASON STATHAM IS BEST ACTION MOVIE STAR

Kung Fu Panda - Classic ♥

Lion King - (same as above)

I've seen... a lot of movies.

Movies I Watch Whenever I Have Time (tier 1):

The Cabin in the Woods (though it wasn't that great if it's judged as a horror movie specifically)
The Departed (best remake ever)
The Da Vinci Code
Minority Report
Fight Club
The Fugitive
American Psycho
The Dark Knight
The Matrix

Movies I really should watch again or watch (tier 2):

Movies I look if they're on Netflix et. al. (tier 3):
Horror movies.

I'll bite... as I am a self-proclaimed movie aficionado.

1. Lord of the Rings
2. Original Star Wars Trilogy
3. The Godfather

Favorite movies in no particular order:

From the most to the least:

  • The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (I see something new in it every time. Truly LOVE this film. It's my 'Desert Island' film.)

  • Brazil

  • Enter The Dragon

  • Ghost Dog

  • The Planet of the Apes series of movies (Roddy McDowall, and Charlton Heston... not the cgi knock offs.)

  • THX 1138

  • Das Boot

  • High Plains Drifter

  • Star Wars (I guess it's called ep 4 now. Not a fan of Jedi or the prequels.)

  • Full Metal Jacket (OMG, my company commander was so like that)

I feel bad that there isn't more Kubric in there, but after reflecting, the above is honest.
2001: A Space Odyssey gets a very honorable mention. Probably the best screenplay I have seen, and done so well. But it isn't one of my favorites to watch.

Just for fun, Worst movies ever:
Avatar and Don't look in the Basement. Spare your mind and avoid both at all cost.

Well for me there isn't really a best of movie list anymore...

I love stuff as:
V for Vendetta
Mr Smith goes to Washington
Bringing up baby
Roman Holiday
Stalag 17
Rear Window
Vertigo
Waterloo
Hornblower
Sharpe
the Great Escape
Star Wars
Apocalypse now
The fifth element 0:)

Very broad of selecting favorite movies....in which i mean movies i can watch a million times and still love it. Even if it's hard or anything
I wouldn't put Schindlers list on for fun ;) nor full metal jacket.

Kung Fu Panda - Classic ♥
Now who doesn't like that? :P

I liked the first and last "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies, the rest are okay I suppose.. Johnny Depp is epic.
Narnia - The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe.
The Good, The Bad, and the ugly was a great one.
Warehouse 13 is especially creepy, which I like from time to time.

My all time favorite series was "Crusoe," and I am extremely disappointed that it was discontinued..
-Edit: I like the "Spec Ops Mission" short series on Netflix, but that is another story.

The latest and greatest would be STEINS;GATE: The Burden of Deja Vu. Not to mention the song during the credits was amazing. I downloaded the album right away.

Jaws, Jaws 2, Jaws The Revenge, Hai Alarm Auf Mallorca, Deep Blue Sea, Rogue, Black Water, Primeval Kill, ...
