It looks like you are going through our archives--that is great.  Please make a post for missing files with a link to the posts of ones you cannot find.  I can check to see if I have it or we can let you know that it is not available.

Released Maps and Mods / Re: Big Battles Mod
February 12, 2023, 02:50:53 AM
It was posted in 2014...does not look like is is around anymore...however, since it is a mission.lvl mod, you can use battle belks mission.lvl builder to just make it.

We have mission mod tutorials.  Change some numbers, munge (compile it) and you are done.

Using the mod tools, you can edit the mission lua file for that map to use clone era sides instead of GCW era sides.  You would get a new mission.lvl file and replace the existing one.

You can munge sides separately and then bring them into a map through the mission lua.  The only items to watch out for on the map that I recall would be CP ownership.

There is (should be) a "side munger" available in our downloads area.

I don't think windows 10 is the real issue here...decrease the AI count and see if that helps.

Thanks GDH--happy new year to you and all SWBFGamers

I recall some issue with the probe droid for Hoth in general.

Also, finding some side level and using it without the correct mission.lvl file can cause a lot of problems.

My understanding is that the GoG/Steam version uses a recompiled 1.3beta executable that incorporates GoG Galaxy support.  Others here can provide more detail about that.  It most definitely does not use the retail 1.2 version.

I don't think that there will be many performance issues with hosting on linux even if that is an old computer.  SWBF came out in 2004, so unless it is a really really old computer, it should be able to host just fine (use the dedicated server software).

(Also, are you running LAN mode or internet mode?)

I've only had experience running the dedicated server for SWBF 2004 original on linux.  SWBF2 2005 server seemed to have the issue you mention.

GoG version of SWBF 2004 game works with Steam Deck (mostly) so there is probably a way to make it work with wine (*not sure about multiplayer).
