I have started hosting a dedicated 1.0 server for players that have never upgraded their game.
If you have any feedback about the server, please let me know.
We can also help you upgrade to 1.2, where there are still 50-100 players each night. There is even a way to switch back and forth from 1.0 to 1.2.
If you want to upgrade and be able to go back to 1.0 when you want, here is what you can do:
1) make a backup copy of your GameData folder, usually located at:
C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData
copy it to
C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront\GameData1.0
(actually make a copy, not just rename it)
2) install the 1.2 patch
you can get it here at SWBFgamers.com after you register:

3) let the installer do its work on the GameData folder to upgrade it to 1.2
4) When you want to play 1.0, rename this modified GameData folder to GameData1.2 and rename the GameData1.0 folder to GameData

Hey Led and the swbf Gamers community. I'm Hond from 1.0 and I run the {snp} clan currently active on 1.0. Take consideration that the other main clans such as BOB, A.T and ~}PRO{~ might not want a server advertising about this website that has nothing to do with 1.0.
I would highly suggest you remove your server until the 1.0 community agrees on this. Which shouldn't take long at all really. Also if this is for 1.0 I wouldn't be advertising but instead put something that people would prefer. An
example would be like 1.0 Community Server, or something else rather then an advertisement.

We can have a actual take some time.
The server and website are for all SWBFgamers--and I was in fact asked by a member of one of those clans to host a server. The server stays! Feel free to not play on it.
Btw,Is there a way that me (1.2 player) can get the 1.0 version and play both of them just renaming gamedatas,or once I upgrade that`s not possible anymore? Thanks. :tu:

Hond, if Led wont host, I would perfectly do it.
Led, Ill host with u a Server, So American players can join and have a low ping and ill host in Spain or Germany , so european players wont lag.

Ah Led, and it will be great to make another tourney for getting a server in 1.0 too !
So next time we make a DC event, and my team win in 2nd place or third it will be nice to have a server in 1.0 without paying ( not as in 1.2 ) :)

There is no real way to downgrade your game if it came with 1.2, if it didn't you can uninstall the game. And then follow the steps in Led's post.

You would need the 1.0 executable, and you also need to rename your Addon folder to something else. From what I have seen, the settings in the side files are all server side adjusted.
It would be very easy to make 1.0 side lvl files for you.
I would not be comfortable making the 1.0 exe file available on the website. However, there may still be a way in which you could obtain the 1.0 exe.
Lol Anyder always finding a way to discourage me or snp. Our way is for people who have 1.0 and want both versions.
Also good job for crashing Magicians server. I know you always like to trololol people. Thats exactly why no one really cares for u on our version.
But I'm sure almost anyone who is from 1.2 who wants to come to 1.0 is welcomed :D

As I understand it, you can get 1.0 (if it came with your game) by uninstalling and reinstalling the entire game. Whether there is something you need to delete or not, I'm not quite sure. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I know that you could possibly torrent the disk, but Chuck/Nacho could not find one that would work, so he only has 1.2 at the moment. You could always look for an original version of the game too, although nobody really sells them anymore.

Led, why dont u upload the 1.0v ? Or both ?
I think on u, cuz as master modder, u might have all SWBF versions ;)
If u want any original file, that u changed, just tell me cuz I have

I'm not sure that we would be allowed to distribute the exe file.
Perhaps I can get some opinions on this. I know we are not allowed to modify the exe file, but this would not be modified.
I know the exe file above 1.0 is in the various updates.
So, what do you think (SleepKiller), could we distribute the exe from 1.0 ?
Heh, even if you do distribute it the CD checking system is probably different across the different versions. I know with my copy, PC Essentials (It just uses the Best Of PC Version, I did some poking around with a stick) wouldn't work.
I would just go for distributing an unmodified version. But I don't think many people would be able to run it.
An issue might arise from this: would the 1.2 Cd-keys from "Best of PC" and other distributors work on a 1.0 exe? I don't have enough cd-keys to really know, all I know is my 1.0 cd-key does work on 1.2 so that's not a problem.
I'll run a cross-check because I think I have the "Best of PC" version here somewhere...
What i do is :
-I have one folder called : Star Wars Battlefront 1.0
And another one called : Star Wars Battlefront (1.2, but i dont put it, so PC can read it, and i can launch SWBF)
Some 1.0 Players do that as : KiNn, Klaos, Me, ...

It would appear that you need the original game CD-rom, and not the various DVD versions of the game.
It also looks like you can purchase the CD-rom version of the game for about $5
