SWBF2 Modding / Re: Need Help

OK, I've moved this to the relevant forum. However, most of the modders on here deal with SWBF1. You may have better luck looking on GameToast.

Please do not bump topics. I've split your post off into its own topic and moved it into the appropriate forum where you might be able to get some help.

Released Maps and Mods / Naboo: Siege Of Theed
November 25, 2023, 02:41:43 AM
This is Naboo: Siege of Theed, inspired by the 1999 Phantom Menace video game. TBH, I lost my modding mojo for quite a while, so I did this little project to help me get it back.

It can be played in both Clone Wars (Trade Federation Vs Royal Naboo Security Forces) and Galactic Civil War (501st Legion Triton Squad vs Royal Naboo Security Forces).

SWBF1 Modding / Re: [WIP]..Forever (Maps/mods showcase)

Well hey there. I was thinking of starting a thread just like this for side projects when I saw this thread and thought 'well, this is what I had in mind - a thread for showcasing mods that might not warrant their own threads'.

I've been in a modding funk and so have been trying different, smaller things to get my interest back up. Here's what I've come up with:

It's inspired by The Phantom Menace game. This isn't finished yet, I hadn't assigned all the weapons to the units (the Vanguard has the R-65 Heavy Blaster, for instance, not a Blaster Pistol), some things need to be fixed (AAT cannon firing), and while the GCW era is available too, with Triton Squad troopers, I haven't tested it yet. I also want to replace the turrets with new ones inspired by the TPM Game's Heavy Repeating Blaster Turrets, but I need to model those.

You'll notice the detail of the weapons - they're from my Battlefront HD Weapons Pack, and they surprisingly work without issue in SWBF1 - it seems weapon models are kept in a different slot in memory.

After years and years, I dug this out from my assets archive and reuploaded it locally.

Please do not bump topics that are this old, especially if you have nothing to add to them.

I have finished the lion's share of the work, it's just some adjustments left.

So! Here's the plan: V1 will release with the base game plus an update for Jabba's Palace for the mod, as well as a single four-map pack (Coruscant, Death Star, Felucia and Utapau - conversions originally done by Red04). The remaining maps will be released as map packs, each containing 3-4 maps. Here's the current plan for those:

Quote-Coruscant: Jedi Temple (CW only)
-Death Star: Interior (GCW only)
-Felucia: Marshlands
-Utapau: Sinkhole

PACK 2:
-Kamino: Cloning Facility
-Mustafar: Refinery
-Mygeeto: War-Torn City
-Dagobah: Swamps

PACK 3:
-Geonosis: Dust Plains (CW only)
-Kashyyyk: Beachhead
-Polis Massa: Medical Facility
-Tantive IV: Interior (GCW only)

PACK 4:
-Space: Coruscant (CW only)
-Space: Endor (GCW only)

Space is going to be tricky to figure out - I do have ideas to tackle that though, inspired in part by the way modders like Napseeker have handled it. I will also find a way to make useable turrets on the capital ships - again, I have ideas for this.

Hi, all! It's been a minute! Work is progressing, but slowly as I work to resolve a few issues here and there, mainly with shadowvolumes, but also some vehicle collision issues. In the meantime, here's a couple of screens from today's playtest showing Bespin: Platforms' new colour scheme (to match the film better) and Kashyyyk: Docks.

This kind of brings me to the next point: I am still targeting a 2023 release, but Summer is no longer feasible. I will be back at university studying for my Masters next month, so I'm hoping to have the lion's share done by then. After that, I'll likely be releasing a 'base pack' version which covers all stock maps, and then taking a similar approach to the Elite Squadron Map Packs for the additional SWBF2 maps. I have yet to decide if/how I might tackle the two space maps I'm thinking about (Coruscant and Endor), but the ground maps are absolutely going to be included. This is different from the 'original plan', which had really big changes between the two Phases, while in this version, there won't be any further changes to sides and sounds - the addons will literally just be for SWBF2 maps with the sides.

If you have downloaded this previously, I have reuploaded it with fixes to the helmets that resolve improper triangulation. Thanks to Delta-1035 for pointing that out. The link is the same, so you can just click the download link in the OP.
