CD Key not valid: Gameranger

Whenever I try to play online on Gameranger servers, the servers say that my SWBF2 CD Key isn't valid. Even though I'm using the same SWBF2 that I used months ago, the one I purchased from Steam.
The years just fly past, don't they?

Is it possible that it's not working because I bought it on my old PC, and that would've been using my CD-Key already. But, I got rid of my old PC for a much needed upgrade.

I don't think that would be the reason.  I think it has something to do with a registry setting.  Did you install it through steam?
