Here we go, lads! We may be about to get a big bump in our mod viewership.

EDIT: Official Star Wars website link: https://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-day-video-game-deals Scroll down to the PC section towards the end of the page.
In Progress:
--Star Wars: Battlefront - Anniversary Edition (formerly Star Wars: Battlefront - Legacy Edition)

On Hold:
--Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron For SWBF1
--Endor: Imperial Base

Is it sad that this is the best news I've seen in ages? :D

I'll wait until it's definitely released before I get too excited but nice to see it's not an exclusive to one platform either.

It will be interesting to see if they reactivate multiplayer and if it's 1.0, 1.2 or even 1.3...
I play less now but I'll always be around, lets keep this site and battlefront going. :)

Given 1.2 was the last stable version, I'd wager it's that. SWBF2 reactivated multiplayer so if it's true I'd expect this to have reactivated multiplayer too.

Thankfully, it won't interfere as much with the modding side of things as it did with SWBF2 (what with it overriding the Unofficial 1.3 patch functionality)

Remember when GoG got the SW licence and released about a dozen games that year? Then subsequently released just one title annually after that? Man, it seemed like Battlefront would take forever to come out!

So please, let this year be the one! For Battlefront's 15th anniversary!

EDIT: I purchased and tested multiplayer, here is what we get:

I'm just going to pray that this Steam release was premature and that it was meant to coincide with the GoG release--which is when the GoG online service would start.

What the user above said. I hope they are just testing the waters to see how it does before committing to restore online multiplayer. Either way, it might result in a significant increase in players on the swbfspy servers, assuming someone can get that working with this new Steam version.

Edit: I would recommend you guys posting links to this website on the community area for the game so that people are aware this place exists at all. Doing so might also send a message to Disney/GOG that online multiplayer is in demand.

In the meantime I prepared what people need to access the current SWBFSPY servers.

I left a review with the proper tools and information as early as possible

I was able to play the steam version with my native resolution which is 1440p but after applying the patch, it only goes to 1080p in the options. How can I get my res back to 1440p?

No idea, sorry.

I made a guide now with better details:

Is the game patched to 1.2?

The default exe was 1.2 and the exe in the guide I wrote is also 1.2

Good to know that the digital version doesn't lose any of the mod functionality.

Don't use the downloaded EXE. Use the Steam EXE, and hex edit it to use the community servers.

I tried this and it failed. Steam said there an error trying to run the game. If that worked, I would have created my guide around it.

EDIT: I did more experimenting and came up with a complete alternative that should satisfy everyone. Go to my Steam BF1 guide I posted above for instructions.
