I figured out how to do everything I need to do. I just needed to change a few things

PC version is currently $10 at GOG.com.

If you are going to be testing maps, it is the best way to do an initial check before loading up on another platform.

It has to be the SWBF2 PC disk, downloaded won't work...

If you're concerned about whether or not the download is safe, it's not a pirated copy or anything like that so there's really no risk of a virus. They're partnered with Disney/LucasFilm so it and all the other Star Wars games on the website are all officially released. It's basically the same as buying a disc version except it's digital.

If you'd still prefer a physical copy, you can probably find one on Amazon or Ebay.

No, I litterally need the disk, because the program says insert Game disk, I don't have it yet.

There is a 'No DVD' modtools program we use now. I think I got it from ModDB.

Gametoast.com is a better resource for modders.

You will probably find my Xbox 'research topic' thread useful too:

I don't yet have all the tools needed to make PS2 and Xbox mods easy, but I've got enough to get them running.
I've got my starter map working on the Xbox and am trying to figure out the best way of booting the Game on PS2 (hopefully it doesn't require creating an iso each time).

I've been trying to get a test map running on the PS2 the past couple nights.
And getting things to work on the PS2 seems SO PAINFUL. If anyone has tips or knowledge on running stuff on PS2 hardware let me know.

I've tried running the game's ELF from USB without success.

I'm curious how a game is stored on the PS2's HDD. Is it stored in a special format?
Or does do the files in the ISO just get extracted to a folder (like on Xbox)?

If we don't find an easy way to get stuff to work on PS2, I cannot see many mods coming to it.

The Xbox on the other hand, has been much easier to get working.

hi BAD_AL if using a fat ps2 you can follow this vid
the best way to test custom iso you made you can use a emulator if you have a fast computer https://pcsx2.net/
for loading swbf2 on the usb using freemcboot and opl

Nevermind guys! I fixed ZeroEdit, now I just need the SWBF2 from Steam!

BAD_AL here is a map that will work on PS2, go to the FEL folder in LVL_PS2 and Delete FEL.lvl, and paste this lvl and rename it to FEL.lvl.

You should be able to attach something to the post.
Did you run this on am emulator or PS2 hardware?

Did you need to create a new ISO to run it?

Usb has many compatibility issues and limitations i use either an SMB server (Ethernet Play) or an internal HDD since neither have as many issues and can run the game at full speed

Hey just made an account for this. I got a modded version of SWBF2 running on ps3 via ps2 emulation. I need some help converting some lvl files to ps2 format. Backtracking a little to explain how I did it but it should work on ps2 as well; definitely any ps3. tested slim and superslim ps3
